>> Nina Garcia: Editors Should Be On TV, "Whether You Want It or Not" —Nina Garcia, who's been on Project Runway for eight seasons now, was skeptical about being on a reality TV show at first: “I’m really very shy when it comes to being out there, so my initial reaction was: ‘No, I’m not going to be part of the show, it’s crazy. Who cares about fashion? Who’s going to watch it?’” But, she says: “The fashion editor as it used to be has changed. Now you have to wear many hats, and whoever tells you differently is wrong. Now you’re on TV, whether you want it or not.” Garcia, 45, who is due in December with her second son, is now tackling a different challenge — the prospect of dressing for Fashion Week while seven months pregnant. “That,” she said, “will be a vexing situation.” [NY Times]

Project Runway Season Eight! Share Your Thoughts in Our PR Fanatics Group
Season eight of Project Runway premiered last night — did you watch? The big twist was that the first episode was actually the last phase of the audition process. As if that wasn't brutal enough, there were so many more unexpected turns that Heidi and Tim clearly loved delivering to the hopefuls. One exciting change is that the accessories wall is now stocked by Piperlime, not Bluefly. I don't want to give anything else away, but for those who watched, join our Project Runway Fanatics group now, and vent away!
Heidi Klum in Avant-Garde Black and White: Love It or Hate It?
There are at least 10 things to look forward to on the new season of Project Runway, but is a more daring Heidi Klum wardrobe one of them? Hopefully! We're all about taking fashion chances, and if anyone can pull off edge, PR hostess Heidi can. She wore this avant-garde black and white jumpsuit combo to last night's NYC premiere and chose red suede platforms for a pop of color. Meet the new season's competitors, watch the premiere tonight, and tell me: does Heidi pull this off?

Project Runway Returns Tonight: What's Your Favorite Season?
Project Runway kicks off its eighth season tonight on Lifetime, and as the network sneaks in some surprises and a new 90-minute running time, I'm getting nostalgic for old seasons. It's not just because eight sounds like a lot of seasons for a reality show, it's also because tonight is the series premiere of On the Road With Austin & Santino, starring two of my favorite PR contestants ever.
Santino Rice made season two for me, with his dead-on Tim Gunn impression, but I'll always have a special place in my heart for the inaugural season, which Austin Scarlett and winner Jay McCarroll made memorable. But if I'm being honest, I think the best season for competition was season three, when Jeffrey Sebelia won. Enough about me: what season of Project Runway was your favorite?

Sneak a Peek at Project Runway Season 8 and Its New Twist!
When I introduced you to Project Runway's new stable of designers last week, I thought it was odd that there were 17 contestants to start off with. Now we know why: in this new promo, Heidi and Tim throw the brand-new players for a loop right off the bat.
Taking this into consideration, plus the info that each episode is going to be 90 minutes long, it sounds like Lifetime is trying to spice things up for this installment. Watch the video and let me know if you'll be watching this season and what you think of these new changes!
