Red Wedding Gowns at Spring 2013 Bridal Week

So, today, I'm putting the spotlight on the brightest trend from Bridal Week's Spring 2013, red wedding gowns. White wedding gowns are classic, clean and timelessly elegant. But for those of you who are looking for a less traditional gown, look no further than a fiery red dress for your big day. After a season of all black, Vera Wang turned up the heat with a bevy of gorgeous crimson colored gowns, inspired by her Chinese roots. Red is the traditional wedding color in China symbolizing prosperity, love and joy. The collections starts off with bright red tulle gown, that fades into beautiful shades of burgundy. Whether you want something voluminous, structured, frothy or form fitting there's the shape and shade for everyone in this line. Oscar de La Renta punctuated his collection by starting and finishing his runway with show stopping red gowns amidst a sea of gorgeous cream and white offerings. The first gown evoked a whimsical feel with a tissue-thin cap-sleeve top layered underneath a red crushed velvet sleeveless dress. Complete with a matching shawl, pointy toed boots and a white flower wreath, this whole look has an old worldly feel that we love. The closing look was everything you'd expect from Oscar de la Renta. A voluminous tulle on lace skirt in a brilliant shade of red with a structured sweetheart styled strapless bodice adorned with jeweled embellishments, a matching jeweled choker, tulle shawl and a red bouquet finish off this dramatic wedding day look. [xx] also experimented with this gold hue, showing an off the shoulder red satin gown with leaf like ruffles down the skirt that stood out against a traditional white and cream palette. The off-the-shoulder neckline adds a sexy touch to the silhouette.
