Return of the Fanny Pack: Love It or Hate It?

Believe it or not, the fanny pack is back. That is, if Baby Phat's Spring 2007 runway show at Fashion Week is any indication. Sure, it's a little bit sleeker, and the leather belt pouch is a far cry from the nylon zippered version. But it's still a fanny pack. What do you guys think? Love it or hate it?

I never leave home without one! Just got back from the mall where I bought a new one for $16 that looks like it's Gucci. Received several compliments from strangers while shopping. They all wanted to know where I bought it. I enjoy matching the pack with my heels or when it blends with my outfit color. Soooo practical! What is the difference? It's just like a purse. Does a purse really look so much better because it's dangling from your shoulder? A "fanny-pack" can be made out of anything a purse can be made out of; and, it also doubles as a fashionable belt. Use your stylish imagination people. Don't stay stuck in the same ol' rut. It is smart-fashion!

I actually like it... maybe not so much the baby phat ones bc I think anything Kimora Lee touches turns to tacky... but I LOVE the Marc by Marc Jacobs one and the Gucci one is cute, and the Chanel one from a couple of seasons ago ( remember the ads? It featured Johnny Depp's French gf Vanessa Paradis)...

Ha, I have 3 of them -- two Gucci's and one Louis Vuitton, and they're cute as hell. Perfect for hands-free grocery shopping or running around with kids at the park and such. I love 'em. And I prefer "waist-bag" to "fanny-pack" ;)

I actually think the outfit could work, lose that white long sleeve thing, lose the purse ( it is not neede with the FANNY lol pack) make the denim a bit longer, and I think its a great outfit! Give the fanny a chance!!!

Its cute. I'd sport it... with the whole outfit of course. Some places I go to it such a pain to have my purse lugged over my shoulder. As long as the fanny packs now don't look like the fanny packs from the 80's I am down.

They're only good for concerts and amusement parks, people who use walkers, and the like. Other than that, I just say no.

The combination of the safety goggles, the bag with handles, the gloves and the tool belt looking fanny pack makes her look like one heck of a stylish phone repair man.

I used to wear really cool ones that were made in Guatamala with cool patchwork. I kept lots of goodies in there too! Man, all this ragging on the fanny makes me feel bad -lol

She should wear the fanny pack (or tool belt, as it were) on her head to cover that weave...which, I am quite convinced, was once alive and had to be slaughtered prior to its affixation upon her cranium.

hey mar, what did you put in your fanny pack for Dead shows? i'm sure there were always stamps around! ;) anyway, i've never been a fan of these...they conjure up ugly streotypes of American tourists on vacation with fanny packs, white socks, shorts, and a bermuda shirt with a huge camera hung around their necks (just waiting to be snatched by a thief of course!). however, this fanny pack looks cool but i still wouldn't buy it. Just say no.
