If you're shopping for leather or suede boots, why not get a real bang for your buck? Get the best of both — the appeal of supple suede and sleek leather with two-tone boots. The pretty leather piping on a suede boot, or vice versa, pulls double style duty, and they make a statement without being too attention-grabbing; just think of it as a chic little extra to get you noticed.
Personally topping my wish list is this black and fuchsia number — the grommet air holes lend a rocker-slash-useful edge to, well, the bag's edges, and the already-crackled leather would wear in nicely. Ahh, but see which item you'd most dream for in a widget of the full collection below.

Rock & Republic has just released a new line for Fall, Plain Wrap, which has a lower price point — $35 to $198 — than its main collection. Each item (hoodies, jeans, leggings) is emblazoned with its name in capital letters. Case in point: this Plain Wrap Stiletto. "This is a new initiative with a new perspective for the consumer that wants fashionable basics with staying power,” said Michael Ball, founder and creative director of the company. Do you agree? Does this concept have staying power or is it lame?
Rock & Republic stuck to what it knew best for its Fall Campaign — rock. That said Malgosia Bela and Vladimir Roitfeld look pretty bored for portraying rock stars. The photo shoot, shot by Mark Segal and directed by Julia Roitfeld, depicts the two in their R&R gear amongst a slew of amplifiers and wires. The set looks stark and overly clean; musicians don't live like that!
Julia should of added a little dirt and grime to make the scene more realistic. On the plus side, the clothes are great and Malgosia looks rocker ready in her boots and fur. What do you think?
Ellie_K gets props for rocking the latest Fab trend. Her vest is fuzzy and fierce. Wearing it against a light gray palette is ideal for the semi-cold weather. I also dig the nude patent clutch and fun bangles.
Here's what she has on:
- Vest: Urban Outfitters
- Top: Target
- Jeans: Rock & Republic
- Shoes: Vincci
- Bangles: Armani Exchange
- Clutch: Anya Hindmarch for Target
Congrats to ellie_K!

I remember when I saw Dazed and Confused in the theater circa 1993 (15 years ago!) — I wanted to see it again, and again, and again. And, I have. It's probably one of my most worn out DVDs. I love the '70s and this Richard Linklater-directed film is a fun trip. The guys are hot, the girls are gorgeous, the music is groovy, and the cars are cool. All the story lines are exciting and the senior bitches are unforgettable. (One of my favorite Parker Posey roles, ever.) If all you want is a slow ride and to take it easy, soak up this not-too-cool-for-school wardrobe.
