Sneak Peek! Rodarte For Target

It was a glorious day when we announced that Rodarte is collaborating with Target. It will be even more exciting on Dec. 20, when the collection debuts. Here's a sneak peek of what's in store for us. Lace and tulle frocks, leopard-print sequin dresses, netted tights, and bow belts all sound fabulous. Even more fabulous is the price range — $10 to $80. Basically, the raw Rodarte aesthetic minus the stinging price tag.

I can't get past the model... the pieces could have some serious potential but the model... seriously... I would like to see the pieces individually on thier own. (hint hint fabsugar) I was really hoping they'd channel those killer over the knee boots and dresses rodarte did.

I love the idea of the designers pairing with Target or H&M, but the clothes are always so badly made that they're not even worth the discounted prices. Especially the Target ones. Even on super skinny short girls the Target lines look badly fit.

The styling and choice of models does not work for me. I'm finding that lately the guest designers at Target have been really disappointing. Anna Sui's recent line was really cheaply done. The few decent pieces did not flatter the shape, and right now they are all on clearance and are not selling. They need to return to the glory days of Libertine, Luella Bartley, Proenza Schouler...
