If you need further proof that Zac Posen's diffusion line exists, the launch party happened last night at Saks in NYC. Actress Rose Byrne, models Tiiu Kiuk and Alexandra Richards, and editors, congregated to check out Zac's latest endeavor. Of the 60-piece lower priced collection, I spy statement skirts, cool cardis, and fine knits — all with a slight preppy vibe. See what went down while Zac was receiving kisses from his models!

Zac Posen Ditches Hollywood for Urban Hipsters with New Saks Collection

Zac Posen is launching a lower-priced bridge collection exclusively with Saks Fifth Avenue next spring.

Zac Posen is launching a lower-priced bridge collection exclusively with Saks Fifth Avenue next spring. According to Posen, the line—called Z Spoke—has an "urban hipster quality." He added that he could see the collection on Lower East Side girls.

That's a long way from Posen's designer collection, which is heavy on dramatic party clothes and over-the-top evening dresses. Posen says it's not a change of design philosophy as much as an answer to retailers' demand for more American sportswear—meaning he needs to sell some clothes.

Z Spoke will retail from $78 (for a t-shirt) to $675 (for a knit dress) and launch in 17 Saks stores on the same floor as Tory Burch and Elie Tahari.

“To me, it’s more appropriate to build a whole brand and collection around this price point," said Posen. "Chic sportswear should be at this price point. Designer dresses and cocktail pieces should be at a more expensive price point.” Zac Posen's designer collection retails for $900 to upwards of $12,000.

Louis Vuitton Recruits Maggie Gyllenhaal to Launch 2010 Cruise in NYC

Maggie Gyllenhaal was the guest of honor last night at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York as Louis Vuitton hosted the worldwide launch of their 2010 Cruise line.

Maggie Gyllenhaal was the guest of honor last night at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York as Louis Vuitton hosted the worldwide launch of their 2010 Cruise line. The company's President and CEO, Daniel Lalonde, joined Saks' chairman Steve Sandove at the "Jardin Louis Vuitton," where other famous faces like Serena Williams, Alexis Bryan and Amy Sacco mingled among the greenery, flowers and a make-a-wish tree.

Maggie apparently didn't feel terribly at home with the plant life; she said her husband Peter Sarsgaard has a greener thumb and she doesn't even know what he grows in their Brooklyn backyard. Model Vika Kuropyatnikova sported a pair of the house's bunny ears, which seemed appropriate for the garden theme.

Although not real interiors, these papier-mâché houses were created by fashion celebrities coming together to raise money for the Women In Need charity. Each hand-decorated piece will be displayed in the windows of Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and auctioned on charitybuzz.com on November 9th. Check out the gallery below to find out what the houses decorated by Jennifer Lopez, Oscar de la Renta, Justin Timberlake and Trace Aylaya, and the Beckhams say about them.

Bella Bargain: Head to Saks Today and Swap Your Shampoo!

I love swaps. In fact, my neighbor and I were just saying how we should do one amongst our friends.

I love swaps. In fact, my neighbor and I were just saying how we should do one amongst our friends. One woman's trash is another woman's treasure, after all. So, if you love swapping just like me, here's a switcheroo that's right up your alley. Just for today, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at participating Saks Fifth Avenue stores, you can receive a complimentary bottle of full-sized Frédéric Fekkai Advanced Shampoo (a $23 value) of your choosing. Not too shabby, eh? All you have to do is bring in any full-sized full or empty bottle of shampoo that you currently use, and you'll be able to exchange it for Fekkai. It's as easy as that. (To be fair, it's only one shampoo per customer, and, as always, available only while supplies last.) Will you be first in line?

Oscar de la Renta Worries, but Wants to Help Keep Tahoe Blue

De la fabulous. I was for real when I said I was heading to Lake Tahoe for Oscar de la Renta's annual fashion show luncheon.

De la fabulous. I was for real when I said I was heading to Lake Tahoe for Oscar de la Renta's annual fashion show luncheon. Along with Saks Fifth Avenue, and held at the gorgeous Fritz family estate in Sunnyside, the event was like no other. If you've never been to the outdoor haven that is Tahoe and are wondering how Oscar de la Renta's elegant clothes would work, the designer himself wasn't sure at first. He told me "The first time I was told I was going to show on an open space I was worried about evening clothes — are they going to look good on a lake? In fact it looks very wonderful, it translates really well." It's true. Oscar's chic-turned-exotic collection fancied quite well on the stark white Saks runway surrounded by yellow lily-topped tables and mountainous beauty.

The show was followed by an auction and lunch and these people were serious. The highest bid — $22,000 — went toward an Oscar de la Renta New York fashion week package. If I were a richie, I would have bid on a week stay for me and five friends at Oscar's Tortuga Bay villas. Um, yeah.

Heidi Klum & Michael Kors Promote Breast Cancer Awareness

Project Runway duo Heidi Klum and Michael Kors are fashionably teaming up for Saks' Key to the Cure breast cancer campaign.

Project Runway duo Heidi Klum and Michael Kors are fashionably teaming up for Saks' Key to the Cure breast cancer campaign. The auf-wiedersehen extraordinaire will be this year's ambassador; Kors designed the cute fuchsia and white limited-edition tee. “It’s important that we all work continuously to find the cure for cancer and to find answers,” said Klum. “This year’s t-shirt is fabulous and not just because Michael, my fashion inspiration and great friend, designed it." The tee, $40, will be available at Saks Fifth Avenue stores Oct. 1 with proceeds going to charity. Awesome. If you want to do your part, shop at Saks Oct. 15-18; the retailer plans to donate 2 percent of sales to the cause.
