After months of speculation following Alexander McQueen's suicide, Sarah Burton has been named the creative director of the London fashion house. Burton, who was known as McQueen's right-hand woman, worked with him for more than 14 years and was named head of womenswear design in 2000. “The creation of modern, beautifully crafted clothes was at the heart of Lee’s vision. I intend to stay true to his legacy,” said Burton. The designer received high remarks for completing McQueen's final collection during Paris Fashion Week. Burton is set to debut a precollection in June and a complete Spring '11 collection during Paris Fashion Week in October.
