Sasha Pivovarova Models in Chanel's Russian-Inspired Pre-Fall 2009 Ads

Chanel's Pre-Fall '09 collection was opulent to the max — it was, after all, inspired by Russia — so the ad campaign had no choice but to follow suit. And who better than Russian model Sasha Pivovarova to show off her rich roots? Karl Lagerfeld served as photographer, as he likes to do. The master styled and snapped his extravagant pieces, which were designed to showcase the skills of Chanel's couture atelier. Although these Pre-Fall pieces aren't attainable by all, they are quite mesmerizing. You get the sense that they aren't just clothes, that they have a rich history behind them.
