It's been just over 40 years since the death of Elsa Schiaparelli, but the couture house that bears her name came roaring back to life Monday morning, driven by the designs of its new creative director, Marco Zanini.
Zanini, who took the job after leaving Rochas in October , delivered a love letter to Schiaparelli's rich history and her penchant for creating truly unique designs. His creations ranged from an asymmetrical pintucked white top paired with a frothy mint-green skirt to a sparkling evening gown with horizontal rows of sequins. Model Saskia de Brauw closed the show as Zanini's couture bride wearing a white pantsuit whose top was embroidered with palm trees.
De Brauw wasn't the only famous face on hand for the show. The front row was littered with fashion greats like Jean Paul Gaultier , Elle Macpherson, Carla Bruni, and Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli. A look at the collection they saw here in the gallery.
