J Brand Reveals the Minimalistic Side of Spring

Some girls blossom in floral prints and bright hues during Spring, while others prefer to take a more minimalistic approach.

Some girls blossom in floral prints and bright hues during Spring, while others prefer to take a more minimalistic approach. For the latter population, J Brand's Spring '13 lookbook serves up endless styling inspiration. White on white on white is a huge theme, as are Spring leather, dresses over pants, and hints of pastel balanced with edgier pieces. But even if you don't follow the less-is-more school of thought, you can still appreciate J Brand's strong Spring styling cues. Head inside to soak up a slew of streamlined ensembles, and then shop J Brand's Spring collection here.

Beyoncé Debuts New Song in a Sexy AllSaints Top

The year of Beyoncé continues with an epic #BeyHereNow teaser-turned-Pepsi-commercial, and it couldn't have debuted on a more appropriate day.

The year of Beyoncé continues with an epic #BeyHereNow teaser-turned-Pepsi-commercial, and it couldn't have debuted on a more appropriate day. Today — April 4 — also marks the singer and Jay-Z's fifth wedding anniversary. The ad, which plays her rumored new single, "Mirrors," in the background, takes us through a pretty awesome sequence of Beyoncé incarnations. Among the mix, her pink sari-inspired "Bootylicious" look, her sexier white tank and denim shorts combo from "Crazy in Love," and her black off-the-shoulder "Single Ladies" unitard all make an appearance. But modern-day Beyoncé might just be our (new) favorite look to date.
She layered a black sheer patchwork lace AllSaints Kyoto t-shirt ($68) over a black sports-bra-like top, then paired it with black leather shorts. It's a dark monochromatic look with just the right amount of sex appeal, edge, and, well, legginess. And while it certainly fits the Coachella bill, if you're not quite ready to take on the same approach, we think this see-through top would work just as well over a strappy floral slip dress and ankle boots.

With Coachella about a week away, we've been on the hunt for some fun festival-inspired looks for what's guaranteed to be a weekend filled with stylish eye candy, music, and lots of dancing. In comes Jessica Stroup to the rescue: the actress made an appearance at the H&M Conscious Collection event in San Francisco looking like a bohemian beauty in her high-low ivory lace H&M dress and cowboy boots. Between the vintage-inspired lace and perfectly rugged boots, we can easily picture ourselves prancing around the festival grounds in a similar look. In fact, all you need is a diaphanous little lace dress, cowboy boots, and if you really want to take your festival style up a notch, finish the look with a pretty braid. Even if Coachella isn't in the cards for you this year, this sweet dress and boots pairings is just as ideal for a weekend brunch date or a casual day in the city. You Don't Have to Be a Girlie Girl to Wear This Sweet Spring Pairing

Spring's ruffled runways — seen at Chloé, Gucci, and Givenchy, to name a few — are proof that you don't have to be the quintessential girlie-girl type to join in on the fun.

Spring's ruffled runways — seen at Chloé, Gucci, and Givenchy, to name a few — are proof that you don't have to be the quintessential girlie-girl type to join in on the fun. If frilly dresses aren't your thing, then try pairing a ruffled top with a pair of tailored trousers and minimal ankle-strap sandals for a look that's simultaneously whimsical and sleek. For a dressier aesthetic, opt for silkier textures, and if you're looking for something more casual, then pair a sweet ruffled confection with a pair of loose jeans. Or, add a sportier tilt to your style with a gray-and-navy color combo punctuated with a pair of black-and-green shoes. Jonesing to add this look to your warm weather repertoire? Shop our three irresistible outfits below.

Jessica Alba's Pink Pair Puts Us Back on the Smoking Slipper Train

Jessica Alba knows her way around a bright color palette — whether it be blue mirrored Westward Leaning sunglasses paired with emerald green trousers or a statement necklace worn over an electric yellow sweater, she's got it down.

Jessica Alba knows her way around a bright color palette — whether it be blue mirrored Westward Leaning sunglasses paired with emerald green trousers or a statement necklace worn over an electric yellow sweater, she's got it down. It comes as no surprise (but rather, a welcomed reinvention), then, that her latest outfit is a subtle play on pink-hued accents. And let's just skip right to the good part: her bright neon pink Charles Philip smoking slippers.

These shoes provide a standout example of how one serious pop of Spring-perfect color can energize even the most casual off-duty ensembles. It also doesn't hurt that the menswear-inspired silhouette supplies an instant does of sophistication, flat sole and all. But the most important styling takeaway? Alba's colorful shoes have inspired us to invest in our own versions. So, to jump-start the process, we've got some bold, printed, preppy, and floral iterations to shop below.
