Simply Fab: Instant Button For Jeans

We gain weight, we lose weight. But what to do when our jeans fall off our waists? If this sounds familiar, get yourself the Instant Button For Jeans ($15 for a set of two). Founder Dana Hanh Contey created it because of personal experience: after three children, she would constantly adjust her jeans' waistband with a safety pin (yikes).

With the Instant Button, simply place the intant button in the desired location, insert the post through the jeans to the underside, and secure it with the clutch fastener to the back of the post. Easy peasy.

The owner/designer of the Instant Button saw my post, wrote me a message and updated her shipping options to include USPS for Hawaii. I ordered a couple of boxes (1 for me & 1 for a friend), shipping came out to $8.50 which is reasonable. Thank you so much Dana of Instant Button for taking the time to address my concerns!

I loved this idea & just tried to order. When I got to Paypal, my cheapest shipping option was $12 which would bring my cost to $27! I am not willing to pay that price for this. I am in Hawaii but am an avid Ebayer seller and an internet shopper. I usually never pay more than $8 for shipping. Understand this is probably a startup which can't spread its shipping cost out but still. This is such a small item, can easily be mailed priority mail with insurance & tracking ~ $5. Sigh... I will just have to keep my eyes open for the local boutiques, maybe I'll spot it locally sooner or later.

I think the one from WalMart is permanent. These seem to be removable, which is good for when you fluctuate weight throughout the month or when you don't want to permanently add it.

Okay, I gotta chime in about these.. I love leaving comments on yelp and stuff like this because before I buy anything, I like looking to see what other people have to say to see if it's worth it. I managed to get my hands on one of these from a friend while at her house. She was raving so much, I borrowed one to see how it works.. I have yet to return it!! lol! and no, not because I'm a deadbeat hahaha!! I think these are pretty awesome.. I had no idea they existed, any product like this existed. I tried using a safety pin, but they couldn't hold me in after I ate lol... a lot of times they would bend out of shape and come undone, which results in the stabbing (NOT FUN!). No risk of being stabbed with these buttons. As for the person who commented on the scrunch with the extra button.. you really don't notice it. I use it modestly, and I think the ad says it's for about an inch or two.. I use about an inch and you can't tell. Especially if you wear tight shirts or tank tops that go over your waist (and wonderfully don't show the bulge of a belt buckle!!). I boycott walmart so I don't know what they got over there, lol.... also.. it's not for permanent wear (i don't think).. it's for those moments when your body changes (bloating, eating, whatever). Anyway, just thought i'd throw in my two cents.

Hmmm.... Are the buttons from WalMart and fabric stores removable or permanent? These buttons are removable. That's what makes it different and special, right?

I second Soniye: just buy a pack at any Walmart or fabric store for like $3!! This is NOT a new invention, people -- don't waste your mulah!

this is one of those inventions that we'll probably all want to smack our foreheads about and say 'NOW WHY DIDN'T I THINK ABOUT THAT' ...it just makes sense right? the only issue would be if you were to make them noticeably smaller and then you'd have bunching in the waist of your jeans from the materials.

This has been available for a couple of dollars at any fabric shop. Just go to the notions/buttons aisle and you can find jeans buttons. You just put the stud through the jeans and press the jeans button onto it. I just did it the other day to replace an actual button with a jeans button closure. This is way over priced.

If I gain weight, at least I'd have the motivation to get back in those jeans! and If I'll lose some, well, one button wouldn't help as much as a belt would, because it really doesn't make all the jeans look smaller and tighter on your figure.

I hate belts. The buckle digs into my stomach and it's not comfortable. I rather use one of these.

i just bought a pair of jeans that are a size too small today.. i know i shouldnt have..but they were beautiful.. they do fit..but i have a HUGE muffin top hanging out.. these would be really useful right about now
