Sneak Peek! Faith 21 Spring '09

The debut of Faith 21, Forever 21's new trendy plus-size line, is weeks away. Isn't that exciting? I can only imagine the mayhem it's going to cause when the line hits select stores and online on May 1. While you anxiously wait, start scoping out your favorites. Think of Faith 21 as Forever 21 merchandise in junior plus size, XL, 1X, and 2X. Whether you're a boho chick, too-cool hipster, or party animal, there's an item to suit you. It's about time plus-size clothing got a fashionable kick.

I completely agree with moonwater. I saw these in Laredo, Texas a couple days ago. Going through the clothes as a Plus size woman made me more ashamed of being in the store. Here I was excited about finally being able to buy something OTHER than jewlery/accessories...but most of these clothes are terribly unflattering. I only managed to find one dress that didn't make me look like I was "a big girl trying to fit into smaller cltohes" Its horrible when even a "plus size" line makes one feel that way. Hope they get steppin on that issue. I love the concept, but it needs some tailoring.

The model pictured is a plus model (I have worked with her not too long ago) and is a size 12 and has measurements on bottom of 31 waist, 45 hips and while I suppose a size 12 is not really plus size, plus models are between a size 8-16 and not very large. (and being very tall makes you appear leaner as well.) These are "product shots" and models generally are not really "working it" in this type of catalog shot, as they are trying to show the cut/length/fit of the clothing, which is why the poses are generally "straight on" and not exaggerated like fashion shots.

Plus size? Excuse me, I'm just like that girl and I don't consider myself plus sized... Fat maybe :) But far from plus sized... If I can fit into Bershka's clothes I'm still OK.

Those clothes aren't flattering on that model. I think they should work on having smaller sizes as well. In most of the clothes in their stores, the smallest size you can get is a S... Where's the XS, or XXS?

i agree with sarahcateh - the model is hardly plus-sized; she looks like a size large. they should have gone with someone much curvier, esp. on top. and i also agree with aaroohii and myystque - forever 21 needs a petite line. i drown in all of their pants and shorts.

that model does NOT look plus size. there is no way she's a size 12. She looks about my size and I am a size 8... isn't the camera supposed to ADD 10 pounds?

I think the idea behind introducing a plus size collection should be to come up with cuts and designs that actually flatter fuller figures and be unique for plus size women. An XXL mini skirt is not fitting the bill. This is a hand-me down collection, only in larger sizes. I find it rather condescending and I'm not even a plus size woman.

while I appreciate the fact that a plus line is introduced, I really wish they bring a petite lines also. I am fed up of all those extra long tees that are way too long on me :(

I was going to say the same flickster. I feel bad for that pore model. She looks EXTREMELY uncomfortable in the clothing. It's sad. Wonder what is up w. that? Anyways - I am glad they are coming out w. this line. Everyone deserves to be fashionable on the cheap :)

I agree with flickster. The model looks weird in those clothes. I'm excited to physically see the clothes. I hope they look just as good as the clothes that are already out there. I sure don't want to see moo-moos, lol.
