Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week: Vena Cava
2011 Spring New York Fashion Week: Vena Cava
What you're about to experience is signature Vena Cava, with an extra exuberant flair. Designers Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock — who are adorable in person — worked in their signature quirky prints and flowy fabrics, but also injected bold, feminine flair, with bouts of bright hues that are Spring perfect. One of the most notable updates to their wears? The longer hemlines — it seems the ladylike trend will carry on beyond Fall. But with Vena Cava, the lady also has a cool-chick bone. For accessories, the models wore turban-like headbands, stacked bangles, and chunky platforms. Close your eyes, transport yourself to Vena Cava-land, and imagine frolicking in these pieces — red and camel, funky overalls, ethnic touches, silky fabrics, asymmetrical hemlines — you can't help but feel alive!
