Stacey Bendet Alice + Olivia Interview Fall 2012

Hi, it's Allison McNamara and you're watching Fab Flash at New York Fashion Week. Designer Stacey Bendet of Alice + Olivia told me about inspiration for a glamorous fall collection. Inspiration for the collection was the sort of, Lolita inspired vixen. So she's sexy and rebellious but she also has this kind of really innocent, kind of school-girlish charm to her. And she's in a sparkly dress one day and cool cargos and like an edgy jacket the next day. Known for having lux materials like sequins and feathers, Stacey told me how to make sparkles appropriate for day. Well, I think you can totally wear seaquins during the daytime when you pair it with like a knit or a boot. I love wearing like a sequin party dress with a boot to work. Then again I wear down to work, so. And she told me that her love of fashion started with a pair of red boots. When I was 2 my mother bribed me with a pair of red patent leather shoes to stop drinking from a bottle, so I guess it started early. Designing isn't her only talent. She's also the master of their five-minute pancake. Oh my God! I make the most amazing pancakes you have ever eaten. The 5 minute kind.
