Fashion photographer Stephen Meisel—known for his controversial but brilliant work for Vogue and Calvin Klein—has created an artful and arresting War on Terror-themed fashion spread for the September 2006 issue of Vogue Italia. Given the timing, the pics are likely to generate a lot of buzz. But the photography—showing models in various stages of undress facing riot squads and airport security lines—is truly remarkable. Regardless of what you think about it, it's an interesting foray into political issues, and unexpected. It reminds me of MIA's recent music video about the persecution of redheads. This and anyone enjoying it is half the reason the human species if fucked. Terrorism is about people being blown to pieces, not selling some totally pointless, ugly and ridiculously expensive clothers for Christ's sake. Geez people, GET A LIFE!!!!!!!

Most of these are terrible. Way too over-the-top fake, with a few exceptions. What does any of it have to do with 9/11? White female models being arrested? I wouldn't have had a clue had this not been titled as such.

It is remarkable!! I like the idea behind it. It doesn't only reflect on 9/11 but also on the attacks in Europe and all the concequences resulting and the highly increase of need of security for government, state and nation. The world became insane and those pictures show parts of that insanity.

i don't see anything remarkable. in fact, the idea that fashion is important is a little absurd. really who gives a crap about things like "fall colors" and hem lines in the shadow of an event like 9/11? it's a little grandiose don't you think?

wow - this is pretty intense. something about this being beautiful and shocking at the same time that sort of leaves you... at a loss for words i guess.
