Doorknocker

Longer, wider hoop earrings, or other design, fitted onto an earpost and dangles free. Resembles a house doorknocker, thus the name. Hilary Duff usually sports a lot of doorknockers.

Wow, doorknockers are nothing new. As Marni7 stated, they are apart of urban culture that gained popularity in the mid-late '80's. I have several pairs back in the day too ;) I remember first seeing them on Salt n' Pepa in thier 'Push It'. I wanted an pair so bad!!

My sister still wears these, my mom and I don't like them. But there cute when ur dressing up in a a coral jumpsuit and a kangol.

oo hoochie hoochie..they actually represent urban culture to me..at least in nyc where i grew up ..i guess that makes me a hooch! oo..and my mom and sisters that like to wear hoop earrings..

yeah, i don't think doorknockers really fit me. LOL but marni, i remember there was this picture of jennifer lopez with a name plated pair on & i wanted to copy her so badly!!

o yes... I own a pair of doorknockers with my name on them..lol..dont hate..it was the style where i grew up but i could never afford them..so i bought them in college haha

where i come from, that is the style for the girls but i opt for other kind of earrings...but if i want to feel more hoochie on a day then i go for those...
