Macramé

Openwork, made by use of looping and a variety of ornamental knotting. Decoration on clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry, and wall hangings. It's believed to have originated with 13th-century Arab weavers. The word is derived from the Arabic migramah, which means "striped towel," "ornamental fringe" or "embroidered veil."
Clutch-guru Lauren Merkin has added this Louise macramé Clutch ($250) to her signature collection.
