Suede
A type of leather with a napped finish. It is made from the under side of the skin, primarily lamb, although goat, pig, calf and deer are commonly used. The term comes from the French "gants de Suède," which literally means "gloves of Sweden." Suede can also refer to a similar napped or brushed finish on many kinds of fabrics.
If you like the smooth feel of suede, try this Spiegel Suede Swing Top ($99, originally $129). It would look great over a pair of stovepipe jeans.
I loooove suede, but I can never bring myself to spend the money on it, especially for shoes. I'm always paranoid it will get wet and be ruined.
1This is super cute I love it, but it would be so annoying to clean. And since CA doesn't get anything during winter but rain I would be fearful it would be runined quickly
2It's cute, but I like clothes that move with you. I think suede would hold it's shape too much.
3I looove suede, even more than leather...
