Style for Style: Shoe Skid Marks

I admit I have a few tricks up my blouson sleeve when it comes to fashion dilemmas. There is enough to go around so I hope you find my new Style for Style everyday fashion tips helpful! Let's begin with shoe skid marks. You know the ones. You have a pair of light colored leather, patent leather, or fabric shoes and these black marks appear usually around the sides and heel. I am prone to these after a wild fun night on the town when flitting about in taxis with sloshed giddy girlfriends.

These Marc Jacobs Minnie Mouse green pumps are a longtime favorite of mine but they are so prone to this problem.

To see my fix involving a tool you probably already have, read more

You guessed it - the magic eraser. Or any eraser for that matter. I believe it was a shopgirl who passed on this tip to me. It works most of the time, but I think it depends on the material and how long the skid marks have been there. Style for style baby!

Thanks for the tip! I have that problem with my new white pumps!
Oh, thank you! I've tried everything for my pink pumps, but nothing worked so far. (OK, by everything, I mean rubbing the marks with my thumb in vain once in a while....)
nail polish remover also works wonders on patent. it just rubs 'em right off.
krampalicious, I wa about to say the same thing...nail polish remover gets them off everytime, I also use it to clean our sneakers too, keeps them looking newer longer!

Krampalicious & CatalinaBella -- I want to tell u to be careful with the nail polish remover, it's too acidic and can ruin the shoe(s)! For patent leather, the eraser will totaly work for new(ish) skip marks, but for the tough ones try spritzing hairspray on a paper towel or kleenex and rubbing gently. Gets 'em every time. For canvas or cotton, use the 'best thing ever' TIDESTICK! :o)
I'm sooooo trying this tonight! Truly Outrageous, Daisy Mae
