I agree with you on that one. I remember reading at one time that Naomi had had Tyra removed from a Carl Lagerfield Chanel show.
It brings up the question of why she is even making statements as though she is concerned about other black models at all.
Is the real problem that she is not getting called for work?

i just want to point out the hypocrisy of her statement of why she won't retire; wasn't she the same person who was black listing Tyra Banks when she was the new up and coming black model?? And i remember she made some stupid comment that British Vogue(? im not sure if it was Vogue or Vanity Fair) never put her, a British black model on their cover, and a blogger pointed out that she had been on their cover a couple of years earlier. SHe is always pulling the race card when she thinks its convenient and will get her sympathy. She should just admit she is in it for the money, and as long as she is still wanted she will keep doing it. Hate Her.

I'm with you, Lala77. I don't know who makes me barf more Mariah or Naomi Campbell. I never thought she was beautiful and FOR GOD'S SAKE SHE'S LOOSING HER HAIR, PEOPLE. i'd rather see some fresh faces. Ditto for Kate Moss. Hang it up, ladies.

She may be crazy but she is a really great model. Her face isn't expressionless and empty like some of the vacant models today. WORK IT NAOMI!
She might be a complete psycho in real life, but she's an absolutely fantastic model. Her spread in Italian Vogue was stunning. She should do it for as long as she can! I doubt her retiring will have an effect on the lack of black models on the runway. And furthermore, ageism here?!? She looks better than ever at her age and I find it impressive that she's stayed so long in an industry notorious for its ageism.

She looks good and she has a point - why should she retire? She is kind of obnoxious, but that doesn't disqualify her ;-)
Why should she stop? Because she's over 30?? There shouldn't ever be a retirement age for models.

Uh, why should she? She still does it well. And it's...what she does. She's fine as a model. As long as she still gets hired, why not? Even if there were more black models, I don't think there'd be a reason for her to retire yet.
