Tips to Look Sexy From Monique Lhuillier

Hey, guys, it's Allison McNamara and you're watching FabFlash at New York Fashion Week. I'm here backstage at Monique Lhuillier, where she told me the must-have color for next season: Red. I think every girl needs a red piece in their wardrobe for fall and it's this beautiful fire red which I'm calling dragon red cause it's the year of the dragon. It's hotter like a prettier red and the favorite silhouette I like is something with a long sleeve and very close to the body and sculpted and mixing with leather. There was a leather dress that I happen to love with a cris-cross back and that was my favorite and I think that summed up the season for me. It's solitary, sexy, and with an edge. Monique continued her edgier looks from last season for fall, and she told me the inspiration for her tough city-girl collection. This was all about sci-fi goddesses. I looked at a lot of Barbarella pictures, you know, because I wanted a tougher edge. You know, I feel like for fall people want slimmer silhouettes. They really want to, you know, show off their figures, but not in a very pretty, predictable way, and that's why I incorporated the leathers into the looks. I mean, I printed on length and I made sure to really make feel different. I didn't want it to be so predictable. Monique's designs are known for making other women feel sexy, but she told us what makes her feel sexy. I think a great fitting dress always makes me feel great, and red lipstick always make me feel sexy.
