Hi. I'm Noria Morales, PopSugar's style director, and we're here at the very sleek show room of BCBG in New York City. And I'm going to walk you through my favorite pieces from their resort 2013 collection. Now this is a cool shoe. BCBG's resort 2013 collection is inspired by travel, and Chief Creative Officer Lubov Azria specifically cites the Hotel Pellicano in Italy as one of her inspirations.
You'll see this whole notion of travel throughout the entire collection. One of my favorite pieces is this gorgeous kimono. It's color blocked, which BCBG loves to do. And it's got just a really pretty palette where it's got a neutral tone and then pops of color. The wide sleeve and the sort of like very loose drape makes it an easy thing to wear for day, for night, over your bikini sitting by the pool.
So BCBG really played with textures and a mix of things. It's either prints which they were worked on to make it feel really textural, or beautiful embroideries. I love this simple shift dress. The dark color, it was a little black dress until they went on with this gorgeous embroidery. It feels exotic, but doesn't feel like it's linked to any one place.
And I think that's one of the things that Lubov wanted to convey with her collection is the sense of travel and escape. But we don't know where it is, we just know it's pretty wonderful to be there. So, this top and skirt. It's like a linen tweed mixture blend. It's really easy and breezable to wear for summer and it's got these gorgeous insets in bright yellow on the sides, which I love as a special detail.
And in the back, it's got the zipper back, which I always think is just a nice little special detail to add something to a regular top for everyday. So now I'm gonna show you one of my absolute favorite dresses. We all say we need a little white dress for summer or for any kind of trip going away, but this one has a little something else that I think makes it absolutely amazing.
Okay. I love this dress! It's so pretty. So, the fabric of this dress makes it really easy-wear, so casual. But it's an elegant silhouette and it's got really special detailing. I think that this is one of those dresses that's so versatile you'd want to wear it to a fancy party in the evening where it's a sit-down dinner or to a really casual barbecue or party with friends.
Okay. Next we're gonna look in the pants department for one of what is my favorite pair of pants in this collection, sheer. And I know you think I can't wear sheer pants, but you actually can, and I'm going to show you how. These feel so special, they're like something you'd find in an exotic bazaar while you're traveling somewhere.
I think they're actually surprisingly wearable. You wear them to the beach or the pool over your bikini for hanging out during the day, and then if you're ready to go out, have lunch al fresco with your friends, you pair it with a long tunic that hits right just above your knee and strappy sandals and easy breezy look.
Now let's check out some of the accessories. Now this is a cool shoe. Take a look. One of my favorite things about this is its bold color and we've seen a lot of bold color in the last few seasons, but here it's mixed in a really modern way because it's paired with neutral tones. If you can get in close, take a look at this big wide snakeskin strap.
It's actually got this gorgeous this laser cutout details that make it feel a little bit more exotic as well, which ties into the whole theme of travel and escape. And then finally, if I switch the shoe to the side, it's not any kind of heel or wedge, It's actually a cutout and it's got this wood sculptural feel to it that makes it feel like something architectural rather than just a shoe.
