Uh huh... so how is being raised in a tiny cage ok? I guess your standards of being raised "well" differ from mine. Somehow living for the sole purpose of dying just isn't okay to me. You seriously think any of these animals are being treated humanely? No. They're being treated decent enough to just keep them alive until they're ready to be harvested for their skins. I wouldn't want that treatment for myself, my cats, or thus for any other living creature. It's not okay and it IS selfish.

While these bags do nothing for me and I'm not interested in buying them (no can I afford to). I would like to clarify that killing an animal and animal cruelty are very different things. Just as wearing leather killed from a cow who can produce enough leather for 3 coats and can also be eaten is different than killing 200 animals for one coat from an environmental perspective. An animal can be raised well and killed humanely (thats what halal as it pertains to diet in Islam is based on). That is all.

Oh hell no, I must say that aesthetically the look of the leather does nothing for me - and coming from the land of the ostrich, those leather bags can found in any tourist shop here. I can just picture all the foreign ladies walking around in their safari gear (in the middle of the city! ha ha!) having just bought a bright purple ostrich handbag from their friendly neighbourhood curio shop. PS: cadi con carne, their meat is certainly not wasted, it's very tasty and healthier than beef. Try an ostrich steak sometime (if you're not a vegetarian). Ostrich burgers are also delish.

I won't wear it if I won't eat it...I don't like the thought of waste. Ostrich is neat looking, I guess, but it doesn't fit my rules for myself. Redo the Stam in another material, though...:)

OR you could DONATE that money to a sanctuary to keep beautiful animals safe from monsters who would want to wear them. FurSugar, weren't you just lamenting the other day over the Queen's bear hats? Hy. po. crite.
