Trend Alert: Puff Party

14

Join the puff party! Not to be confused with the '80s bubble hem, the puff is all about creating contrasting volume. This is an ideal party look. To avoid looking like a puff pastry, make sure the puff starts high on the hip and the top is fitted and structured. See Miu Miu's delectable short and puffy concoction (left) — love!

I just wore a puff dress this weekend. It was too puffy when I bought it, so I had to get alterations to tone the puff down a bit. :P

oh i like the puff. i just posted a photo in the look book of me wearing a puff dress. i think they're flattering because they make it appear as if the dress is the thing with the shape and not the actual body. just my opinion i guess...

Love the Oscar de la Renta dress. And I think this trend could actually look good on "pears" with slim calves (not me, but I know a lot of them), because it could hide wide hips.

I like it, it goes well short and with shy high heels( which I rock ont he daily)!!

This look would work for .005% of the female population. This is not practical at all. I have thin hips and I still wouldn't weak this.

I'm sorry, but anyone w/ hips should probably avoid adding more bulk to that area.

When I first saw this trend I was against it. However, I just purchased an adorable white shirt in this style: http://tinyurl.com/5thpme (and it isn't EXACTLY the same style but my version of it and it bubble out more on me than the picture) I can't believe how flattering it is with a straight leg jean (not skinny...too extreme). Its one of those trend you need to try on first.

The last thing I need is more bulk on the bottom.

Yeah, I'm not really feeling it too much either...but I do like that red belted dress a lot.

I'm sorry, but the main picture does look straight out of the 80s. Never been a big fan of the bubble skirts.
