Trend Alert: Swing Tops

Are you a swinger? Not the naughty kind of swinger, that's more DearSugar territory, I'm talking a lover of fun, feminine swingy tops. I showed you some trapeze dresses a while ago and these are a safer - and more versatile - version. You can wear them with a pair of skinnies, some cuffed shorts, and especially with cropped jeans for a retro Bye Bye Birdie look. Some of you may think they make you look preggs but that's the look right now so I take it as a fashion blessing because you don't have to suck in your gut all the live long day!

I love these type of tops and I have a lot of them. The fabric and cut (including length) are critical to avoid looking like you are wearing maternity wear. You also need to wear something tight fitting on the bottom, to balance the flowiness on top. But it can be done (and well).

i was just going to say that. mine is a halter with a band wuth a zigzag desingn but the bottom is to big so i think it looks like a maternity top. lol

i agree with the whole pregnant thing. only really skinny girls can pull those tops off. they never look pregnant in them. I, on the other hand, get all fat-looking. my boobs look engorged (especially in empire waisted tops) and then it's like "oh, am hiding a baby bump or not?" let's not play this game. i've got curves and a nice little figure and i'd like to show it off while i still can, not hide it.
