The Top 10 Trends From Milan Fashion Week

With Milan Fashion Week Fall 2013 in our rear view, we've taken stock of the trends to emerge victorious.

With Milan Fashion Week Fall 2013 in our rear view, we've taken stock of the trends to emerge victorious. The rocker-chick movement continued in Milan, but with a decidedly subversive (read: punk) twist, thanks to Versace and Etro. Nipped-in waists at Bottega Veneta and Alberta Ferretti proved that the ladylike look is here to stay, while bolder blues and crisp whites battled it out for Milan's most "reached for" color. Higher modest necklines took the spotlight at Salvatore Ferragamo, sheer paneling made its mark at Missoni, and if you're wondering what the It bag of MFW is, let's just say that coveting one may as well be doctor's orders. For the full breakdown of Milan Fashion Week, see the top 10 trends right this way.

Black and Blue Gowns Prove Far From Boring at the Oscars

The Oscars proved that black and blue gowns can be just as stunning as the high shine and chic pale-hued looks we saw on last night's red carpet.

The Oscars proved that black and blue gowns can be just as stunning as the high shine and chic pale-hued looks we saw on last night's red carpet. Celebrities like Reese Witherspoon, Sandra Bullock, and Helen Hunt gave us a range of darker glamour — but there's much more where that came from. See all of the celebrities in black and shades of blue at the Oscars right now, and tell us what you think about their looks in the comments section below.

This Oscars A-List Crew Stood Out in Chic Pale Hues — See Why Here

In addition to all the shimmer and shine, there was no denying the influx of pale-colored gowns at the Oscars this evening — and it's not hard to see why these lighter hues were so popular.

In addition to all the shimmer and shine, there was no denying the influx of pale-colored gowns at the Oscars this evening — and it's not hard to see why these lighter hues were so popular. Spanning from blush pink to dove gray, celebrities chose the perfect pale hue to complement their best assets. Jessica Chastain's custom Armani Privé gown looked perfect against her ginger locks; Charlize Theron practically glowed against her stark white Christian Dior Haute Couture gown; and Oscar winner Anne Hathaway took home her prize in a pale pink Prada number. There's much more where that came from; click on to see all of the starlets in their pretty pale gowns.

Jennifer Aniston and Olivia Munn Lead Oscar Night's Red-Hot Trend

The carpet wasn't the only thing that was red tonight.

The carpet wasn't the only thing that was red tonight. Some of our favorite actresses — and nominees — arrived at the Academy Awards in the eye-catching hue. Both Sally Field and Jennifer Aniston reached for Valentino dresses; Field opted for a long-sleeved number with semisheer panels, while Aniston decided on a timeless princess-gown silhouette. Not to be outdone, Olivia Munn and Marcia Gay Harden went for body-con gowns, also in the standout color. One thing's for sure: these ladies certainly painted Hollywood's biggest night red.

Oscars Trendspotting: Backwards Necklaces

Sparkling jewels and statement accoutrements are all part of the Oscars red-carpet formula, but this latest styling trick has it backwards (literally).

Sparkling jewels and statement accoutrements are all part of the Oscars red-carpet formula, but this latest styling trick has it backwards (literally). According to Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway, necklaces are just as glamorous from the back, leaving much of the "wow" factor for the parting glance. Lawrence draped a long 74-carat Chopard diamond bead necklace against her subtly embroidered white-and-pale-pink Christian Dior Couture gown, invoking an old-school kind of elegance. While Hathaway — now the winner of the best supporting actress award — went for a bolder look with a tassel-infused Tiffany & Co. necklace. Are you feeling the role reversal of tonight's most gorgeous jewels?

Stacy Keibler highlighted her enviable figure in a silver-studded Naeem Khan racerback creation; Renée Zellweger stunned in a liquid gold Carolina Herrera gown; and Naomi Watts's silver-sequined Armani Privé confection proved unforgettable. Meanwhile, Jennifer Hudson opted for a sexy metallic blue Roberto Cavalli gown and Bond girl Naomie Harris took the eco-friendly route in a chic gold gown made out of recycled zippers and chocolate candy wrappers (yes, you read correctly).
