Twighlight Blues Ombre Cardigan: Love It or Hate It?

Ombre can be pretty, and ombre can be tacky. On this Twighlight Blues Ombre Cardigan ($62), it doesn't quite work like it did in Alberta Ferretti's Fall 2007 collection. It looks unfinished and kind of random on a cardigan. I don't mind the colors though. Do you agree?

I think once in a while, a well-made ombre can look good - but this just looks cheap and ugly...

Nope. Looks like it got caught in the wrong coloured wash. Not a great look.

Actually I like it ...the only thng that makes it "disturbing and hateful " to look at is because it's paired with an uncomplementing black/white striped shirt that's very "see-through" all the way to the sleeves.

i have to say that this looks like an afterthought, almost as if it had gotten into some kind of laundry accident, and the simple fact that it is a grandpa sweater. it might have worked if the dyeing technique was better executed and was a more fitting cardigan. i think my main dislike it that it's $62 and you can see through it!!! i hate it when you can see through cardigans like that, i mean isn't that what the v-neck is for? ick.

It just doesn't work in a knit like this. Ombre looks best in things like chiffon. THe cut of the sweater is just a little sloppy too. Not for me.

It reminds me of something one might have worn in middle school in the mid-1990s...and it also reminds me of hypercolor, which, EW, is no longer cool unless you are 12 and live in a time-warp.
