Here comes the bride, all dressed in pink? When Vera Wang sent a bouquet of petal, peony, rose, and even coral down the runway, we sat up and took notice. And she wasn't alone. For Fall 2014, bridal designers definitely thought outside the box with innovative shapes, unexpected embellishments, and provocative hemlines. Read on to see what we mean!
For every person who says, "Think pink, but don't wear it," there are plenty more who go all in with the color. Vera Wang's Fall 2014 bridal collection is for the latter set. The completely pink collection explores the unexpected side of this girliest of colors; on the day the collection was shown, Wang's house tweeted, "Pink as sensual, pink as seductive, pink as dreamy, pink as sophisticated, pink as strong, pink as cool."
There were certainly sensual, dreamy, and sophisticated dresses in this collection, many of which had gigantic flowers attached at the waist or on the skirt. The ones that didn't made up for it with exquisite lacework, bands of fabric shirred or pleated to create shape and visual appeal, and of course lots of volume. And best of all, these pink dresses would look just as great in white.
If there's one thing we can count on with Sofia Vergara, it's red carpet sex appeal. The Modern Family actress turned up in a red Vera Wang gown that hugged every curve of her bombshell figure. And when its subtle lace texture, cleavage-bearing neckline, and dramatic fishtail weren't enough, unmissable Lorraine Schwartz jewelry dazzled in a complementary green hue. If one thing's for certain, it's that all eyes go to Sofia on the carpet.

If Chrissy Teigen's dream of a gown took your breath away when you saw it on the model's Instagram account, steel yourself — there were two others! The dress in this shot is the one she wore for the actual ceremony to crooner John Legend and, as the snap shows, it was all about volume and drama. The Vera Wang ballgown featured a lifted tulle skirt and tiered, handcut petal-embroidered details.
For the reception, she changed into a strapless mermaid gown with a sheared organza full skirt, also by Vera Wang. And the final look? Another strapless mermaid gown, this time in crimson with embroidered crystals, for the afterparty.

Vera Wang's show notes were short and to the point: "Spring 2014 explores an artful and architectural approach to clothes with a decidedly athletic reference." Working in black, violet, marigold, and scarlet, Wang crafted multilayer looks with sheer warm-up jackets over pieced chiffon dresses and mesh insets into beaded gowns. Save for the delicate flutters of flowers that traced a few backs, this was a decidedly tougher turn for Wang.
Vera Wang has an affinity for making women look like the most gorgeous versions of themselves. Whether through simple, stunning makeup, soft hair, or perfectly crafted updos, the womenswear and bridal designer never fails to put on a flawless show. Fresh from a sexy but chic Atelier Versace number at this weekend's VMAs, Selena Gomez attended the premiere of her latest flick, Getaway, in a grown-up Vera Wang Collection frock. The mix of jacquard and guipure lace is something your mom would approve of . . . unlike the recent getups of other Disney grad Miley Cyrus, whose VMA everything is still causing a kerfuffle around the web.
Selena finished off her polished look with lace pumps and bold purple rhinestone earrings. Do you like it all together?
