Don't Mess With Donatella Versace's Army

Feb 21 2014 - 1:13pm

Will you be marching to the beat of Versace [1] come Fall 2014? If Donatella has it her way (and when doesn't she?) you certainly will. Decking her army of models in epaulettes, military coats, and sashes, there was no doubt you wouldn't want to mess with Medusa's militia.

The tough, buttoned-up designs were softened with flowing fabrics, fringe trims, and fluffy coats — because what's a Versace show without fur [2]? Meanwhile, accessories — often coordinated with the clothes — bolstered the message and ranged from the new mule-boot-hybrid [3] silhouette to lace-up heels and knee-high metallic inlaid heels that caused one co-worker to remark, "If they do write a third Sex and the City movie [4], Donatella just designed Samantha's wardrobe." And whether it's Ms. Jones or otherwise, we wouldn't cross any woman armed with these dangerous heels.
