Viktor & Rolf's Couture Collection Gets to the Pointe

Viktor & Rolf's Couture Collection Gets to the Pointe

To call Viktor & Rolf's ballet-inspired Spring 2014 collection on point would be a literal and figurative observation, as the designers' whimsical delights came twirling down the runway on toes shoes rather than heels.

Much like last season's return to couture, this was more a performance than a show. Unlike Fall's all-black presentation, however, the tune was much lighter, airy even, and the palette was awash with shades of romantic pastel pink. On behalf of those theatrics — which were as much a stage for the label's latest fragrance, Bonbon, as they were for the clothes — Viktor & Rolf described the collection simply as "feminine." Much like with the ballet itself, we can thing of no better word to summarize these delicate and draped designs.
