Go ahead, bring on the layers. For Fall 2013, Vivienne Westwood showered her runway with the intricately decorated, voluminous, and well-tailored clothing that she's known for, but this time she followed a medieval inspiration and piled lots of different pieces on top of each other.
More on Westwood's medieval Fall, here.
One model came down the runway wearing a purple tartan shawl over a gray-and-red silk tunic with matching leggings, furry black booties, and a canvas shopping bag. Elsewhere, a strong-shouldered floral blazer was paired with an elegant dress in deep plum and black platform boots, and a sheer gold piece teamed up with an asymmetrical black tulle ballerina skirt.
Of course, there were plenty of things that looked a little more primed for, say, a corporate setting, like a high-waisted pin-striped skirt or a gray wool suit with an aggressively notched lapel. But who wants to go into the office when you can go back in time?
