I've been a wedding guest, bridesmaid, and maid of honor, yet I still attend weddings in awe because every one is different. Plus, I just love celebrations where I get to dress up! So, without further adieu, here are some of my wedding guest styling tips.
1. Summer Dress and Lace
This outfit is targeted for a beach or outdoor wedding, but it's also appropriate for indoor weddings. There is the do-not-wear-white rule, but this off-white lace top works because it's more of an accent — adding a dressy touch and femininity to the coral dress.
Tip 1: Do not look like the bride or bridesmaids.
Tip 2: Avoid carrying large or oversize purses. Stick with a clutch or smaller purse
Shop the look: Dress: H&M , Lace Top: Charlotte Russe (shop similar ), Shoes: Candies
2. The Little Black Dress
This outfit is simple. It's appropriate for most weddings, even black-tie. It's light enough for an outdoor wedding but classic enough for an indoor wedding. The little black dress comes in all shapes and sizes — add jewelry to spice it up. You can also add a cardigan or blazer if the weather gets cool.
Tip 1: Find outfit inspiration from the wedding theme, which is usually evident by the invitation.
Tip 2: Wear waterproof mascara and eyeliner — weddings often come with tears of joy!
Shop the look: Dress: Bitten (shop similar ), Necklace: thrifted (shop similar ), Shoes: Forever 21
3. Blouse and Skirt
This outfit is the most casual. Maxi skirts (or skirts in general) are a great option if you don't have just the right dress. Pair a pretty blouse with a skirt, and you are good to go.
Tip 1: Make sure you are comfortable. You'll be less self-conscious when you're dancing or socializing.
Tip 2: Bring a pair of flats if you're wearing heels — your feet will thank you later.
