My top half is really small and I have a tiny waist but my hips and thighs are a whole different story. It makes it hard to shop. I'm shaped like a Coke bottle. Oh well.
0, according to Gap. And it really annoys me when people criticize Size 0 all the time because they don't think that when you're 4'11 you can be a size 0 and still a bit chubby!
my size changes depending on the brand and the season anywhere from a 0 to a 4. i also have a lot of vintage clothing from the 50s 60s & 70s which is all size 4.
I have the same problem, small upper-body and bigger over the hips an thighs, but with F-cups, I can hardly ever find something that fits =(
When I told a sales lady that I hated my breasts (too big) and my waist (too small) and my hips (too big) she looked at me and said, well it sounds to me that you're shaped like a woman, and
then I felt really stupid
According to a size conversion chart, I am a 8-10, which is 36-38 in Germany and equal to our size "small". Does that mean, that most women (at least who read this blog) wear sizes xs or xxs?
I am amazed....
I'm more of an hourglass shape, so clothing is always hit-or-miss with me. I'm like lolany, with a range of things that will fit or not. I think I average around 4/6 though.
For pants, I usually have to buy 0 unless they offer 00. For shirts to fit properly, I have to buy XS, but recently I've been buying some shirts in bigger sizes because I like big baggy tops
over skinny jeans.
For pants and dresses --Most of the time I am a 3 but sometimes I'm a 4. When I shop for clothes, I go for the 4 first and if it's a little bit loose, I go back to 3. i can do this because my
size has been consistent ever since I was 17
i'm confused--what's the point in even posting a survey like this? to show those of us above a 6 that we really are too fat for real fashion and should stick to muumuus and stretchy pants? to
further glorify the all-powerful size zero? to make us all hate ourselves that much more regardless of our natural size and shape.
my upper body is a size 10, and my lower body is currently a 16. it is impossible for me to find fitted dresses or jeans made for a woman with--GASP!--a waist. i'm in the process of trying to
tone up and get fit, but continuing the divide between the fat and the skinny for the sake of fashion is getting really, really old.
and, believe it or not, i kind of love my big ass.
Thanks to some bizarre genetics I ended up with a top and a bottom, with a tiny waist and tiny legs. Sizing is wacky no matter what for me. Depending on how the jeans are made I can squeeze
into anything from a 25 to a comfortable 28 wich I think is somewhere between a 2-6 for jeans. Dresses are basically a free for all depending on how they fit, but mostly between a 2 and a 4.
But I'm pretty sure I own dresses in the 8s and 10s too.
i am a 12 on bottom for pants, but for dresses sometimes i get away with something else--it all depends on cut. every once in a while i'll try on something that fits through the hips but is
too small in the bust (it's usually the other way around). that's why i don't worry about what size i am, just finding great clothes that fit right, so my booty and i look fantastic. size is
supposed to be a tool so you know which garment to take into the dressing room first. beyond that, who gives a #%@*. it's not a status indicator.
I said I'm a 6, but really, it varies depending on the designer or store. I bought a skirt at Old Navy, and it's a 4 (it's even a little loose). In my dress pants, I'm a 6. In petites like
Michael Kors, I'm usually an 8 petite because I'm a 32DDD, and the 6s are too tight on the bust. So it all depends, but somehow I have it all straight in my head.
krampalicious, I don't think it's to make anyone feel bad and you shouldn't feel bad about your size, I think it's just a fun way for everybody to chime in about their different body shapes
and sizes. Everyone is built differently and that's all there is to it.
I can wear 2s or 4s depending on the brand for jeans, shirts, and dresses. I agree that a post like this just adding fuel to the weight obsession that this world has but honestly I am a
smaller size because that is how I am made.
I am taken aback by the higher posts saying they are surprised there are so many for the smaller sizes, because really? I don't want to bash women here but A. Every woman lies about their
weight and true size at some point in her life(every woman!) and B. Yes America is an obese country, but there are still naturally/easy-to-maintain smaller sized women as well. We did become
extinct when the obeseity rate sky rocketed.
depends on the brand!! all brands have different sizes in shirts and pants. I'm a 0 and XS in say....Express....but I'm a 2 Small in like...American Eagle. Gap I'm a 1 or 2 in pants...XS in
tops...
I hate how they're all so different..it makes it so much harder to shop! Especially online cuz I worry if things will actually fit!!!
i'm usually a size 4, but as everyone knows sizing is not consistent across designers and manufacturers. and there is the vanity sizing phenomenon.
and krampalicious, i don't think this post is intended to make anyone feel badly because they are not a size zero. conversely, as long as you are healthy, no one should make you feel bad if
you are, in fact, a size zero. as a kid, i grew taller way before my weight caught up with me, and as a result i was ultra skinny...and kids teased me and called me anorexic. in fact, i was
and still am perfectly healthy with a healthy appetite. but that was painful for me, so although the experience might be slightly different, i think everyone can sympathize with the feeling
of body issues.
at any rate, i think they key to looking good is knowing your size and what fits you properly, regardless of weight or size. and i think this poll is just a way of engaging in that discussion
in a noncritical way.
I'm all over the map with my sizing because of my weight distribution. I'm 5'5" and 128 lbs, but most of it is on my oddly large hips. That being said, I'm a size 10 pant/skirt, but a small
(0,2) on top. Sad, isn't it?
it depends on what store i go to. This really irks me. I'm wearing a size 2 jean at The Limited but when I try on jeans on H&M, I'm a size 6. My dress size also changes. I tried on a
bridesmaid dress and was a size 8. But I bought a dress at H&M and it was a 6. And another dress a purchased at Ann Taylor Loft was a size 0. ??????????????
Also, you guys gotta remember that we stand at different heights. This post shouldn't make you feel bad because someone who is a size 00-2 is probably shorter than a girl who fits in a size
somewhere between 6-10, but even if their not, it's okay.
Thanks to my mom and dad's genes, I'm a size 0-2 depending on the dress cut. Shirts I can wear up to a four considering my triple F boobies (which is my true size after watching Oprah and
realizing I was wearing the wrong size bra from Vicky's Secret! 34C). I'm 25 and I'm still in Juniors, one day I hope that my body will grow up and I can start shopping in the Womens
section!!
interesting results. but you can't just go by size. some stores/brands run big or small. im one size at target and 2 sizes different at express. it varies so much for women
I have to wear a different size depending on whether its a top with sleeves or not
and for dresses, skirts and pants, it really depends on the cuts. Apparently my shoulders and hips are too big...
I'm usually a 2 on top and bottom which is good because there is a chance that things will fit proportionally. But they do make this size as if it is for shorter heights alot, which is
frustrating.

Cat Deeley looked casual and cute outside the BBC Radio One studios in London. She wore Hudson black skinny jeans and kept warm with a feminine white pom pom scarf and soft green leather jacket (similar in color to this one by Tory Burch), adding a Pauric Sweeney python bag and tough combat boots to give the look more of an edge.
My top half is really small and I have a tiny waist but my hips and thighs are a whole different story. It makes it hard to shop. I'm shaped like a Coke bottle. Oh well.
1I wear a medium in tops and usually a 4 or 6 (depending on the brand) in bottoms.
2same here! i have a very small waist but my thighs are kind of big. does anyone know how to make them smaller?
3i wish i would be 0
4yup, a bellcurve
this is common in society.. I think I'm a
4, not really familiar with American sizes..
5I thikn I'm a 6/8 in American Sizing.
6If the conversion chart i looked at was right im a size 10. Obese by Hollywood standards but i like my size
70, according to Gap. And it really annoys me when people criticize Size 0 all the time because they don't think that when you're 4'11 you can be a size 0 and still a bit chubby!
8Hm...interesting. I thought things would be more evenly distributed.
9Wasn't there once a time when size 8 was considered "perfect"? I'm suprised there are so many girls size 4 or less...
10my size changes depending on the brand and the season anywhere from a 0 to a 4. i also have a lot of vintage clothing from the 50s 60s & 70s which is all size 4.
118-10 I love my size! I'm small so I can fit almost any designer yet I can relate to the curvier women!
12I have the same problem, small upper-body and bigger over the hips an thighs, but with F-cups, I can hardly ever find something that fits =(
When I told a sales lady that I hated my breasts (too big) and my waist (too small) and my hips (too big) she looked at me and said, well it sounds to me that you're shaped like a woman, and then I felt really stupid
13It depends on the brand and fabric/cut! On the top, I wear anything from a XS to a M. On the bottom I wear anything from a size 2 to a size 6.
140
15i'm between a 3 and 6.
16In dresses I wear a 6 but I can wear XS shirts and have some size 31 designer jeans (well, they run small) so I'm truly pear-shaped

19I fall right in line with Mokona. Size 4-6 depending.
20For pants, I usually have to buy 0 unless they offer 00. For shirts to fit properly, I have to buy XS, but recently I've been buying some shirts in bigger sizes because I like big baggy tops over skinny jeans.
21I am a 4/6. With shirts for the most part I am a M but I also do have XS and S.
22For pants and dresses --Most of the time I am a 3 but sometimes I'm a 4. When I shop for clothes, I go for the 4 first and if it's a little bit loose, I go back to 3. i can do this because my size has been consistent ever since I was 17
23I agree with Brandi.I was shocked most girls were 4 or less too! I'm a size 8 and I have no gripes with it.
24In pants I generally need a double zero. I have absolutely no hips, it's really sad.
25i'm confused--what's the point in even posting a survey like this? to show those of us above a 6 that we really are too fat for real fashion and should stick to muumuus and stretchy pants? to further glorify the all-powerful size zero? to make us all hate ourselves that much more regardless of our natural size and shape.

295'10" and a size eight-ten, depending on the make. Actually, my range can be from a 6 to a 12. Sizing is screwed up.

31im size 0
32if im a girl...LOL
In dresses I'm a 0-2 but in pants I'm a 4 and shirts are XS. I have a bigish butt but I'm really petite and 5'7

37Generally, I'm a Small on top and a 4 in most places for bottoms and dresses. I had a size 6 prom dress though. So random.
38i'm usually a size 4, but as everyone knows sizing is not consistent across designers and manufacturers. and there is the vanity sizing phenomenon.

Me, personally, I am a size 0-2.
