Create one now! andrea 7 years Blonde, Boxing Day is December 26th. It's called 'boxing day' because that's the day stores are first open to honour Christmas exchanges/returns, but so many people come out for the sales that most stores won't even do exchanges/returns. It's insane, if you don't get to the mall before 8 am and finish by 11 am, you're out of luck! BlondeSugar 7 years OK, Andrea, what is boxing day?! That sounds great BeachBarbie! I'm glad you had such a good experience! andrea 7 years Oh... thanks, Blonde! I'd have to say that the most torturous shopping day for me would usually be Boxing Day. I've almost killed more than once, and I refuse to do any after-Xmas shopping until the 27th or later this year! BeachBarbie 7 years BlondeSugar, Sorry you had that experience. :( I worked for a store that really wanted to make the employees happy, in return we were more than happy to provide every possible customer service we could..including free shipping, and gift wrap (that was all in another area). We provided boxes (where the customer checks out/I always gave them extras too), and plus, the customers were always told, returns are fine. There were a lot of other great customer services the store provided but, I've already written so much (plus, I'm trying to do my nails right now..and keep looking at rush. lol) Everyone, had to work on Black Friday from open to close. But, with all the added floor coverage, they made sure we took our breaks, and the the break room always had holiday food in it provided by the store..the breaks where a bit shorter..but, we all really had a good time. I miss those days, and the people I worked with. :( But, I have the great memories...that was def. the best store I ever worked for. :) BlondeSugar 7 years That must have been crazy BeachBarbie! I worked in a retail store one year on Black Friday. I got yelled at for going to the bathroom (my only "break" in the 9 hour shift. Needless to say, I never went back after that! haha That stinks about the Christmas music! I am listening to it right now, and won't stop until Christmas! BeachBarbie 7 years BlondeSugar, your right. I used to work at an upscale department store, and from black Friday till Christmas Eve it was pretty crazy. Then the day after Christmas with the returns was crazy too. I actually enjoyed working during that time..it was a good kind of stress..does that make sense? But, it kind of ruined Christmas music for me...listening to it forever. lol BlondeSugar 7 years Andrea, it's ok. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, it is said to be the busiest shopping day of the year andrea 7 years Call me a moron, but what is Black Friday? BlondeSugar 7 years It's not that bad. A lot of people are scared to go shopping on balck Friday, so I see it as any other Saturday from now till Xmas Lindsb 7 years DITTO! karmasabitch 7 years I don't like shopping online for the most part.. And I'm with DC, I NEVER shop on Black Friday :O BeachBarbie 7 years I like to go to the mall, and get all my shopping done in one day but, not on black Friday. bluejeanie 7 years i looooove going to the mall of america on black friday. things are cheap and sure it's crowded but people watching is just as fun. BlondeSugar 7 years Haha Dchic! People say we're crazy but I've done it every year and really like it. It's really crazy packed at the mall, but I feel like every weekend btwn Thanksgiving and Christmas are just as crazy. So we (my mom and my godmother and I) just bang it out in one day. DesignRchic 7 years Bless your heart BlondeSugar! I'd rather pull out my arm hairs one by one, than shop on black Friday. Give me a good movie, some comfort food and I'll be happy shopping online at home. BlondeSugar 7 years I hit up the mall on Black Friday and get everything done. Lindsb 7 years Online!! No lines..
