I Want This Wardrobe: '80s Flashback, Lily and Carol Rhodes

It's a blast from the past!

It's a blast from the past! Check out Lily and sister Carol in Gossip Girl's throwback episode. Aren't they adorable? We're used to seeing Lily polished in the present but as a teen, via Brittany Snow, she was all about color and fun thanks to costume designer Meredith Markworth-Pollack.

The bad girl paired her tiered polka-dot dress with pink Givenchy cut-out heels, lace leggings from Urban Outfitters, and a cropped asymmetrical jacket. Rad. Her sister Carol, aka Krysten Ritter, opted for a more vintage look wearing a nautical dress by Ya-Ya, Jordache jean jacket, white boots, yellow drawstring bag, and loads of accessories. I can only imagine the trouble these two caused. Oh, did I mention '80s heartthrob Andrew McCarthy will make an appearance as Lily's music-executive father? If you like what you witness in tonight's episode, keep your eyes peeled for producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage's untitled Gossip Girl spinoff, which follows the crazy life of 17-year-old Lily in Los Angeles, circa 1983.

Trend Alert: Rockin' Riding Pants

Think of all the different ways you can wear rockin' riding pants.
Bebe at ShopStyle

Think of all the different ways you can wear rockin' riding pants. You may push me back at first, but you can't deny its sleek equestrian roots. Take the preppy route and wear this sharp cut with a blouse, boots, and a blazer — think Serena Van Der Woodsen; or go modern and pair it with some killer heels and a casual tee. Speaking of Gossip Girl, Jessica Szohr was spotted donning a pair while out with hottie Ed Westwick.

Look of the Day: Gray Matter

Does gray matter? Of course it does.

Does gray matter? Of course it does. This seasonless hue is one of my favorite colors. I like how sandra werner made her outfit more casual by pairing her fitted skirt with a loose sweater. It looks haphazardly thrown on and effortlessly cool.

Here's what she has on:

  • Sweater: Lily McNeal
  • Tank: YAYA
  • Skirt: Black Halo
  • Shoes: Miu Miu
  • Belt: Vince
  • Necklace: Unknown

Congrats to sandra werner!

Everyone else, submit your looks and I might feature you on FabSugar!.

Celebrity Style: Ginnifer Goodwin

Budding fashion favorite Ginnifer Goodwin showed up at the LA premiere of Speed Racer in a gorgeously bohemian Malandrino resort dress that's yet to become available online.

Even with its multitude of colors and ruffle hem, the print manages not to overwhelm, thanks to a shorter hemline and shoulder-baring cut. I don't know about you, but just looking at her is making me want to go on a major dress binge to prep for the Summer.

Fall Classic: Intarsia Sweaters

Perhaps it's because they conjure images of hot cocoa sipped around a ski cabin, but for some reason, intarsia sweaters are a cold-weather classic.

Perhaps it's because they conjure images of hot cocoa sipped around a ski cabin, but for some reason, intarsia sweaters are a cold-weather classic. The name applies to those throwback knit tops with the graphics woven into the sweater—most likely snowflakes or some type of kitschy wildlife. Sure, they're a little retro, but they are also a lot of fun. Here are my favorite intarsia sweaters at both designer and non-designer prices.

Trovata Heidi Fairisle Vest, $165, available here.

Vince Intarsia Cardigan Sweater With Fur Collar, $370, available here.

Ya-Ya Eloise Lambswool Sweater, $310, available here.

Anthropologie Thoroughbred Sweater, $128, available here.
