Zac Posen to Launch New Clothing Line Zac Zac Posen

Zac Posen is entering the "advanced contemporary" clothing category with his Zac Zac Posen collection, and the pieces will be priced around $500. The new line is meant to compete with the likes of Tory Burch and M Missoni, and will feature everything from black leather motorcycle jackets and leather pants to his signature stretch jersey dresses. Unlike his lower-priced Z Spoke collection, which is now in limited distribution, this endeavor is aimed to marry the idea of high quality fabrics, the potential for eveningwear, and design versatility. It also happens to be totally in sync with Posen's other commitments. Namely, the designer has replaced Michael Kors on Project Runway, and it seems this is the time for Posen to tackle the "golden price point" (as he deems it) just as the brand gains wider mainstream exposure. The first Zac lineup is set for a Pre-Fall release, and has already been confirmed to sell in Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Intermix, Scoop, and Harvey Nichols.
