Zac Posen's Mother Replaced as CEO, Leaves Company to "Pursue Other Interests"

>> Zac Posen's mother and longtime business partner, Susan Posen, has left the company to "pursue other interests," relinquishing her CEO duties at Posen to Susan Davidson, who is also CEO of Scoop NYC. Both companies are owned by Ron Burkle's The Yucaipa Cos.

“It has been nearly 10 years since Zac, Alexandra and I founded Zac Posen,” Susan Posen, who will continue to serve in her role as chair of the board, said yesterday by email. “During that time I have had the privilege to work — both within the company itself and in the larger fashion arena — with an amazing group of people. The company is now poised for a new phase of growth, and I have decided it is time to step aside from my current role as acting CEO and pursue other interests.”

WWD's sources say that Yucaipa "was getting increasingly frustrated with the lack of return on its Zac Posen investment and sought a change at the helm to steer the business in a new, more profitable direction." Susan Posen had said in April that she expected the company to make its first profit this year. She also noted yesterday that she was “pleased to welcome Susan Davidson who has joined us as CEO. She will now steward the Zac Posen and Z Spoke brands. I look forward to their success and growth.”

The Paris Fashion Week festivities were full steam ahead and glamorously masked last night at the Vogue 90th anniversary party. Gisele Bundchen was fresh from hitting the runway at Balenciaga and spending the morning with her adorable son Ben. Kate Moss had Jamie Hince as her escort for the evening, and he helped her out at the end of the bash. Kate spent most of her week home in the UK, where she helped celebrate her daughter's eighth birthday. Tyra Banks made a statement with her headwear, twittering that she made her fishnet face cover from a cheap pair of stockings. The elegant soiree is the perfect way to kick off October's Halloween fun and, of course, the iconic magazine's place in the fashion week frenzy.

Crystal Renn Makes New York Fashion Week Appearance at Z Spoke

>> Crystal Renn has been embraced by Paris designers — Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier both picked her for their recent campaigns — so it was only a matter of time before she and her curves were welcomed stateside once again.

>> Crystal Renn has been embraced by Paris designers — Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier both picked her for their recent campaigns — so it was only a matter of time before she and her curves were welcomed stateside once again. The designer who takes the honor? Zac Posen, who sent Renn down the Z Spoke runway, marking her first appearance of the week. “I’m freaking out," she told People. "Zac is one of the ones you want. Zac, Calvin and Marc are the big three. I booked one of my three.”

Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week: Z Spoke

For Zac Posen's Spring '11 Z Spoke debut, we had high hopes — and this is a collection that delivers all the goods we could ask for.

For Zac Posen's Spring '11 Z Spoke debut, we had high hopes — and this is a collection that delivers all the goods we could ask for. It's funky, fun, fresh, signature Posen doing what he does best: eclectic colors, prints, and dresses cut with fit and flair. We love the unexpected pairings, juxtaposed lacy bra tops layered over casual separates; flirtatious, corseted, cutout day dresses, suits; even Crystal Renn in ruffled bloomers. It's all a little retro-whimsical, then, he pulls out a showstopper and totally surprises: a sleek, black, cutout maxi that delivers something a little futuristic, mega chic. It's hard to choose a favorite, we're so into it all — ultra-vibrant, deliciously girlie, subtle edge.

2010 Primetime Emmy Awards: Christina Hendricks

Mad Men starlet Christina Hendricks is lovely in lilac Zac Posen tonight.

Mad Men starlet Christina Hendricks is lovely in lilac Zac Posen tonight. But it's not just the color that caught our attention — feathers add funky fun to the sleeves and skirt, while pleating cinches at the waist. Jewels are simple, and she finishes the look with a handheld clutch. What do you think?
