Zagliani Metallic Python Handbag: Love It or Hate It?

Zagliani bags may be pretty, but they're not cheap: this Zagliani Metallic Python Handbag is $2,865. Jennifer Lopez loves hers, but I'm not sure if I could love one of my own, even if I could afford it.

The bags are designed by dermatologist-turned-designer Mauro Orietti-Carella, who injects the python skin bags with silicone, causing the plumped look. How very Nip/Tuck! So, after knowing the bag background, what do you think?

snowbunny11, lol! i know i'm totally low on python... also tiger skin gloves and elephant skin boots. your wardrobe just isn't complete without a pair of elephant skin boots!!!!!! :P

This is a California Statute:"� 653o. Endangered species; Importation or possession for sale(a) It is unlawful to import into this state for commercial purposes, to possess with intent to sell, or to sell within the state, the dead body, or any part or product thereof, of any polar bear, leopard, ocelot, tiger, cheetah, jaguar, sable antelope, wolf (Canis lupus), zebra, whale, cobra, python, sea turtle, colobus monkey, kangaroo, vicuna, sea otter, free-roaming feral horse, dolphin or porpoise (Delphinidae), Spanish lynx, or elephant.(c) Any person who violates any provision of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be subject to a fine of not less than one thousand dollars ($1,000) and not to exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000) or imprisonment in the county jail for not to exceed six months, or both such fine and imprisonment, for each violation."But I mean, really sumnboutme, it totally sucks that there are laws against killing endangered animals for fashion. It's just so totally inconvenient, and I don't think that the government understands that I really NEED a tacky python bag. Maybe we could lobby or something? ;)I couldn't quite figure out when this statute took effect, either 1977 or possibly it will in 2008 or 2011...which would definitely give me time to stock up on alligator bags and zebra shoes.

Ricarocks, European perspective? Naah :p I'm from Europe too, but I think gold looks tacky. Even when it's 24 carat. I think silver or platinum looks more classy. Gold is for gypsies and pirates

love it love it love it! except i hate that it's real python. why would i want a dead animal hanging off me? i thought we moved past that in the caveman era.but i do love the gold. i guess i'm coming at this from a european perspective, but why buy silver if you can afford gold?

I saw photos of J.Lo carrying this bag and had no idea who designed it. The shape is what intrigued me the most so I'm surprised to learn it's injected with silicone for that look. At that price I'm assuming it's genuine python eh? Hmm... my disdain for animal cruelty says yuck.

I wouldn't mind it if it was fake skin- but python! No, No, No! Did everyone read the fabsugar article (which was so fantastic and important, thank you fab!) about how python skin is acquired? Appalling, truly.
