May is here, which means a fresh new crop of stylish celebrity candids to pore over. This week, Candice Swanepoel showed off one of our favorite Summer trends, while Rachel Zoe gave us a glimpse at her official CFDA member card. Chrissy Teigen had a slight wardrobe hiccup before heading to the White House Correspondents' Dinner, but was still able to turn it out in time for the big event. Rihanna and Zoe Saldana sported bad-ass looks from Mary Katrantzou and Balmain, respectively, but it was Brian Atwood's giant shoe delivery that really had us talking — can you guess what gala he's prepping for?
This week, Zoe Saldana and Winona Ryder showed us why the faux bob is such a great style. Both ladies complemented their curled hair with red lipstick and little black dresses, but the styles themselves were vastly different. Zoe's faux bob at the UK premiere of Star Trek Into Darkness was pure vintage, with brushed-out waves and loads of shine. Winona's style, on the other hand, took on a more modern approach. She opted for tousled ringlets with plenty of texture. There is no wrong way to wear this trendy style, but which version would you rather emulate?
It's a very good-looking week in review, thanks to the start of Zoe Saldana and Alice Eve's Star Trek Into Darkness promo tour and The Great Gatsby's glamorous world premiere. Couple that with your usual parties and film screenings, drawing looks from the likes of Kate Bosworth — in Oscar de la Renta — and you've got a set sure to inspire the chicest kind of dressing. Chris Pine and his Star Trek Into Darkness leading ladies Zoe Saldana and Alice Eve drew a massive crowd at their film's London premiere today. Thousands of fans came out to see Chris, Zoe, and Alice, as well as their fellow castmates Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, and resident villain Benedict Cumberbatch. Before heading into the 3D showing, Chris and Benedict signed autographs and managed to snap a few shots of the swarming crowd. Meanwhile, Zoe struggled with her Vionnet gown, and it took the whole cast to help the star during a sweet group picture.
The cast is busy promoting their Star Trek sequel worldwide and last showcased the movie on Monday at the German premiere. The highly anticipated followup to J.J. Abrams's 2009 blockbuster reboot introduces us to Enterprise newcomer Doctor Carol, played by Alice Eve, who has also successfully kept up with Zoe's premiere glamour during press. Star Trek Into Darkness is slated for IMAX release in the US on May 15 and will hit regular theaters everywhere on May 17.
Zoe Saldana earned some major style points over in Germany promoting her new movie, Star Trek Intro Darkness. By day, she went monochromatic in a gray top and skirt that revealed a flash of skin. By night, she opted for an ultraluxe ensemble with bold color and texture. We can't wait to see lots more from Zoe on the movie's promo tour! On Allison: Zara blazer, H&M top, Zara pants.
Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, and Zachary Quinto joined their Star Trek Into Darkness cast mates Alice Eve and Simon Pegg, along with director J.J. Abrams, for the film's German premiere in Berlin today following a morning press conference. Zoe Saldana stunned in a short and colorful Balmain number, while Alice went for a glamorous Emilio Pucci gown. Before heading into the premiere, Zoe, Alice, and Zachary all threw up the signature Star Trek Vulcan salute..
While Chris have been showcasing the latest installation of the Star Trek series with his crew, his personal life has taken a different turn. Chris and model girlfriend Dominique Piek recently split after nearly a year of dating, which he confirmed while at this year's CinemaCon. Chris has plenty to keep him busy, though, since promotions for the Star Trek sequel will continue until the sci-fi classic hits IMAX theaters on May 15 and then expands to regular theaters on May 17. Until then, check out all the Star Trek Into Darkness movie posters.
Zoe Saldana may have been promoting Star Trek Into Darkness at a photocall for the film, but her sophisticated hairstyle was more retro glamour than space cadet. This elegant updo is similar to the look spotted on the Carolina Herrera runway, but the addition of a jeweled hair accessory, Jennifer Behr's Delicate Vine Circlet ($498), gives Zoe's look vintage appeal. (Note how Elle Fanning recently styled the same headpiece in a floral wreath fashion for a completely different feel.) And with wedding season in full swing, it's a charming look for the bride.
To get this look at home, create a deep side part and tuck the hair on the shorter side behind the ear and secure with pins. Then, loosely roll the remaining hair away from the hairline, tucking the ends in as you move around the head. Secure the roll with bobby pins as you go. Spray with a hair spray like Oribe Superfine Hair Spray ($29) on your fingers and comb to help get the grip you need to keep hair from slipping (dry shampoo works well, too). Finally, add a flower, brooch, or hair comb to the style to steal Zoe's look — and red lipstick, of course.
Having started her career as a ballerina, Zoe Saldana takes her workouts seriously. And the actress swears by The Moyer Method, created by trainer Steve Moyer. Her sculpted shoulders continue to wow us, so we asked Steve to share her upper-body workout with us. Watch the video to learn the four exercises, and then give them a try.
