All hail the new Chanel Bond Street store that was just refurbished. The three-story, 12,600 square feet space officially opens its doors today, but the other night, fashion's finest in London flocked to the chic boutique for a lay of the land. For starters, the focal point of the store is a giant CC and pearl sculpture, paying homage to the brand's famous accessory. Not only is the architecture stunning, but the crowd was certainly a sight for sore eyes. Yesterday in New York City, Stella McCartney gathered a gaggle of beautiful models and invited all of her fabulous celebrity friends and fans to preview her latest 2014 Resort Collection. The event was held in the trendy West Village and included famous faces such as Madonna, Cameron Diaz, Anna Wintour, Kate Bosworth, Naomi Watts, Helena Christensen, Julianne Moore, Liv Tyler and her rocker dad Steven. Exciting news for all of you One Direction fans. The X Factor dreamy quintet released its first ever scent in London and they have called it "Our Moment," named after the song "Moments" on their "Up All Night" debut album. Made alongside fragrance guru brand Firmenich, it contains notes of wild berries, red currant, grapefruit, jasmine, freesia, frangipani, woods, musk and patchouli.
The scent has been in the making for about a year. Band members Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik told WWD, "It’s not too strong and it’s quite sweet and subtle, rather than it being a bit more in your face. Too strong is not what any of us are into." The packaging is pink, since it's for females, with photos of the faces of the band and the bottle is made to resemble a cut jewel with a silver crown on top.
The official launch will be on August 25th and Harrods wil have the exclusive until it is available nationwide on September 9th globally. It will be available in three eau de parfum sizes: 30-ml for £21, 50 ml for £29 and 100 ml for £39. A shower gel, body lotion, 10 ml rollerball and gift set will also be available in time for the holidays. As for the bands biggest fears about their new product? Liam Payne said, "I hope it’s not one of those things they throw on stage, because those are going to hurt. Folks, I can't quite believe that I'm asking this question either, but it has just been brought to my attention that Simon Cowell never wears pants! The successful music man can clearly afford them, however he openly chooses to go commando. Word on the street is that Mad Men star Jon Hamm (aka Donald Draper) also refuses to wear undergarments from time to time, which caused quite a stir on set for a scene where he was required to wear a swimming costume. Face oils have been around for some time now, and they are amazing. I'll admit that it took me some time to get used to the idea of putting oil directly on my face for fear of clogging my pores, but the more I use them and understand their incredible benefits, I get excited whenever a new product is launched. If you remember in my interview with Bobbi Brown a while back, she even recommended using a face oil as a part of a daily beauty regimen, and called them "the most underrated skin care product." She wasn't even trying to pimp out her own goods; she, too, just truly believes they contain great moisturising properties. Holy amazing! Just look at the newly available photos from Mulberry's 2013 Autumn/Winter Willow Tote handbag collection. Named after Mulberry's second home factory in the English countryside, the bags are available in a small tote, large tote and clutch sizes. They are made from supple calf leather and accented with either an ostrich panel or plain with gold or silver hardware. The new colours in the collection include emerald, oxblood mulberry pink, black silk, ginger, taupe and pheasant green and select colours are already available online, whilst the rest of the range will be stocked in August. It's not surprising that after being in the fashion industry for so long, that famed photographer (think Kate and William's official engagement photos), Mario Testino would want to take a moment and show off his talents in front of the lens for once. That's right, the 58 year old Peruvian, has designed a capsule collection of clothing and accessories in collaboration with Vicky Beamon available now on Net-A-Porter. The range includes printed tees, caftans, scarves, handbags and baubles. The name, Mate, has a double meaning. The first is Association Mario Testino and the second refers to his non-profit organisation that aids artists that live in London and Lima to mutually exchange their work.
Created with South America as his inspiration, the designs include on-trend pom poms and an ecclectic colour palette. Buy them while they are still in stock and 20 percent of the proceeds will go towards the Mate charity.
