Gonna Catch Me Ridin' Dirty: Dogs and Cats Stake Claim in the Car

Pets love hitting the streets for a joyride with their owners — having the wind blow through their fur, licking the cool air, and embracing the sun's warm rays — but these days, it seems our furry friends are getting a little too comfortable in the car.

Pets love hitting the streets for a joyride with their owners — having the wind blow through their fur, licking the cool air, and embracing the sun's warm rays — but these days, it seems our furry friends are getting a little too comfortable in the car. On more than one occasion, my pup has booted me from the front seat so she could ride shotgun (thanks for helping, Mom), and I've heard a slew of stories where our beloved sidekicks have staked prime real estate when riding around town. From a cat taking the wheel to a dog embracing the luxury of a taxi, sit back, relax, and cruise through to see some of the cutest car-conquering critters (warning: you'll most likely have to sit in the backseat).

How to Work an LOD — Little Orange Dress — Like a Pro

Although the little black dress is a seasonless closet staple, Rihanna, Amanda Seyfried, and Jennifer Lawrence have all opted for a little orange one instead.

Although the little black dress is a seasonless closet staple, Rihanna, Amanda Seyfried, and Jennifer Lawrence have all opted for a little orange one instead. And let's just say, the bold color swap has us second-guessing our own current go-to dress choices. Rihanna skipped the Valentine's Day pink palette for an orange wrap dress in LA, while Amanda styled a silk Roland Mouret confection with ankle-strap Jimmy Choo pumps, and Jennifer went sexy-sweet in a Stella McCartney cutout dress in London. Not only does this high-octane hue complement most skin tones, but with a few easy styling tips, the LOD can be the star of your wardrobe year-round. Take a cue from these trendsetters, then shop our editors' picks to beat the Winter blues.

  • The Trendsetter: Rihanna's gold ankle-strap sandals lent a minimalist touch to her orange wrap dress. To inject a similarly cool — but never overdone — tilt to your LOD, add a leather jacket, caged sandals, and a statement necklace into the mix.
  • The Sophisticate: From the cowl-neck collar to the ladylike hemline, Amanda's Roland Mouret dress evoked a seriously chic vibe. Follow her lead and work your orange dress with ankle-strap sandals, a black belt, and dainty jewels, and then top it off with a plush fur coat to further the sophisticated glamour.
  • The Siren: Jennifer's bright orange Stella McCartney dress featured the perfect amount of sex appeal. Mimic her party style with a cutout LOD, metallic pumps, and an effortless updo.

Beyoncé Sings National Anthem (Live!) in One Sexy Little White Dress

Not only did Beyoncé put the kibosh on the National Anthem lip-synching controversy — yes, she did sing along to a prerecorded track, but today's stunning live performance put the nay-saying to rest — but she also looked phenomenal while doing so.

Not only did Beyoncé put the kibosh on the National Anthem lip-synching controversy — yes, she did sing along to a prerecorded track, but today's stunning live performance put the nay-saying to rest — but she also looked phenomenal while doing so. This afternoon, the brunette stunner fielded questions at a Super Bowl halftime press conference in New Orleans, and to do so, she worked a gorgeous long-sleeved, leg-lengthening, back-baring little white dress by Olcay Gulsen. Not letting any detail go to waste, she also sported sheer-mesh polka-dotted pumps, supplying a double dose of sexy-meets-sweet style. As if her dress weren't chic enough, Beyoncé took her look to new heights via cascading side-swept curls, a gold-foil manicure, and a few dainty jewels. If these looks are a preview of what's in store for (what promises to be) an epic Super Bowl halftime, we can't wait to see what noteworthy ensemble she chooses for the big game.

But wait, there's more. Beyoncé gave us an encore with a second press-conference outfit. She stepped out backstage in another dazzling number: a bright orange knee-length Antonio Berardi dress that she partnered with gold-studded Jimmy Choo pumps.

Kate Beckinsale always looks phenomenal on the red carpet, but on a recent shopping trip in LA, she proved she also has major street-style cred. The actress jazzed up her Winter basics with this geometric-print Stylestalker blazer ($189) — we especially love the blend of warm hues. She then finished off the look with dark cuffed denim, black suede booties, and cat-eye shades for a fuss-free style that's easy to re-create (you probably already own most of the pieces in your closet). Score Kate's exact blazer to work with your favorite jeans for a lunch date with friends or glam it up with leather leggings and sky-high pumps at night.
