Ashley Olsen Shows Off an Edgy Way to Rock White Maxi Skirts

Leave it to Ashley Olsen to take something fresh, like a white maxi skirt, and put her totally unique spin on it.

Leave it to Ashley Olsen to take something fresh, like a white maxi skirt, and put her totally unique spin on it. While spotted on the streets of NYC, the designer wore her embroidered white maxi skirt with this satin hoodie by The Row ($1,650), a leather jacket, Birkenstock thong sandals ($90), oversized The Row circle sunglasses ($312, originally $445), a blue crocodile satchel, and a bevy of gold baubles. While wearing your white maxi skirt with a simple tank is cute, re-create Ashley's look for when you want your Summer style to be more city vs. beach. To get her look, shop similar pieces, including her exact hoodie, shoes, and sunglasses, below.

A Few Fab Words With Heidi Klum(!)

Heidi Klum. Where to begin?

Heidi Klum. Where to begin? From the beginning, I suppose. German born Klum is no longer just a model. She is a model, actress, TV presenter, fashion designer, television producer, singer, wife and mother. No wonder Klum continues to inspire so many. She started as a model and Victoria's Secret model — that body, that face — and worked her way into our hearts hosting Project Runway and embarked on fashion projects along the way, i.e., her jewelry line and collaborating with Jordache.

Now married to Seal and the mother of three, Heidi always has a smile on her face. That is what inspires me. She is hardworking, doesn't take things for granted and seems to be a very happy person. And so, we are so excited we got an exclusive interview with the multi-tasking model! Be sure to also read her beauty interview with Bella.

Can you describe your personal style and how it has evolved over the years?

I have always had a very unique sense of style. I love bright colors and bold prints that make a statement. When I was young I was all about be-dazzling! I would be-dazzle everything from jean jackets to bags. That love for glitz and glam has stayed with me over the years but has matured. In my everyday life comfort is very important. I love throwing on a classic pair of jeans with a cozy tank and flip flops, especially when running around with the kids.

Phillip Lim

On Our Radar: Phillip Lim for Birkenstock

His line is not even two years old yet, but Phillip Lim just keeps going and going - not to mention you all voted him the FabSugar Designer of the Year last year!

His line is not even two years old yet, but Phillip Lim just keeps going and going - not to mention you all voted him the FabSugar Designer of the Year last year! His first boutique opened last week on Mercer Street in New York, and he's got a plethora of other side projects in the works, including a collection for Birkenstock's fashion-forward line, Tatami.

"I've always been obsessed with Birkenstocks," he told The Fashion Informer. "My goal with this is to introduce... a series of urban, oh-so-cool old-school, but new hippie-chic sandals."

Sounds promising! I can't wait until September, when the line will be unveiled at his 3.1 Phillip Lim show. It is supposed to be carried at his new Mercer Street store, as well as at select Birkenstock retailers in Asia, Europe, and a few American markets, including in New York and L.A.
