The Season's Best New Crop

With classic trouser detailing, amped-up shapes, and jaunty above-the-ankle lengths, this season's wide-legged cropped pant might just be the most spirited way to experiment with fashion's new proportions. From Derek Lam to Max Mara, the Fall 2012 runways were teaming with the look, and judging by its prominence in the Resort 2013 collections (Carven, Alexander Wang) - not to mention its popularity among some of our favorite street-style regulars - it seems this pant is bound to stick around for a little while longer. Keep it chic by pairing yours with shrunken jackets and fitted knits - and don't forget the heels.

Purple Dolphin Stars in Proenza Schouler's Fall Fashion Film

Fashion films tend to be odd almost as a rule (see: Prada Fall 2012, Margiela for H&M, et al.), but Proenza Schouler's new Fall 2012 video Desert Tide might just take the cake for sheer weirdness.

For the just-released two-minute clip, the creative team at Proenza forwent traditional models in favor of female avatars from the video game Second Life. As a result, the clothes are digitized versions of the ones that came down the Fall runway, and the girls who wear them don't behave like humans. On the contrary, they do a strange interpretive dance that involves a lot of expansive arm movement and a little levitation. They're joined from the outset by a purple dolphin that can swim through sand and, later, what looks like an early '90s model Honda Accord.

Jack McCollough's sister Kate served as creative director for the video, and worked with Second Life to make it a reality. It was originally commissioned for the Proenza Schouler store on New York's Madison Avenue, but you can see the final product, in all its quirkiness, below.

Georgia May Jagger Is the Face of Vivienne Westwood's New Jewelry Line

Oh hey, Georgia May. The British beauty has been named the face of Vivienne Westwood's new Gainsborough palladium jewelry collection.

The diamond and sapphire baubles were inspired by the Paper Jewelry line Westwood introduced in her Fall 2000 Gold Label collection. A tiara, necklaces, earrings, ring, and bracelet comprise the collection, which is now available at Westwood's UK stores and on her website.

Jagger and Westwood celebrated the Juergen Teller-lensed ad campaign with a party during Paris Fashion Week. A look at the ad, the jewelry, and the party here in the gallery.

Jourdan Dunn Photographs Herself For Rag & Bone

No makeup, no stylist, no professional photographer: that's the beauty of Rag & Bone's DIY Project, which recently enlisted Jourdan Dunn to shoot pictures of herself wearing the brand's jeans.

Armed with a digital camera, Dunn nodded to Rag & Bone's British roots and American spirit by taking some of the pictures in London and others in New York. Several shots prominently feature Dunn's backside, which she attributes to some of her cheeky friends.

"I had just moved into my new apartment in London and was hanging artwork that I'd recently purchased and, as I'm not the most handy person in the world, the process was really amusing," she said. "My friends kept telling me how great my bum looked in my Rag & Bone jeans so I put on a show."

Dunn joins a long list of models who have photographed themselves for the DIY Project, including Miranda Kerr, Karolina Kurkova, Candice Swanepoel, and Hanneli Mustaparta. A look at Dunn's self-portraits for the Fall 2012 campaign here, in the gallery.

Windowpane Sweaters Are the New Striped Shirt

They're a funny thing, trends. So fickle, so unpredictable. Take J.W. Anderson's Pre-Fall 2012 checked sweater, for example. Who could have known that it would be catapulted into must-have status in the space of just a few short weeks? With its oversize silhouette and graphic pattern, there's no denying it has appeal, but after being spotted - and photographed - on the likes of Taylor Tomasi Hill, Tamu McPherson, and Julia Sarr-Jamois at last month's Milan and Paris shows, this windowpane knit seems well on its way to replacing the striped shirt as the most ubiquitous patterned pullover around.
