iPod Nano Goes Red

Gap isn't the only company getting on the (Product) Red bandwagon.

Gap isn't the only company getting on the (Product) Red bandwagon. Now, Apple is contributing to the cause with its lovely red 4 GB iPod Nano Red. The Red initiative, which Bono discussed during his appearance on Oprah today, was launched by the U2 singer and Bobby Shriver to raise money for and awareness of HIV/AIDS in Africa. When you buy the special-edition red Nano, Apple will contribute $10 from your purchase price to the Global Fund, which funds AIDS research and drug distribution in Africa.

The color-screen gadget holds up to 1,000 songs in a stunning red aluminum enclosure. It's a great size if you only buy one iPod, but if you already have one of the larger versions, it also makes a great auxiliary gadget for jogging or other activities. You can the iPod Nano (Product) Red $199 here. Or, tell us how you contribute to charity here.

Karma Creatives

Get Some Good Karma

Do you ever wish you could just buy some good karma?

Do you ever wish you could just buy some good karma? Now you can, thanks to a kitschy new line of cosmetics, called Karma Creatives. I was a bit skeptical of this company when I first came across its signature product, the Karma in a Can Purified Water Mister, which is basically just a refreshing spray-bottle of unscented water fortified with herbal essences like ginseng and aloe.

The rest of the product line, however, has since won me over with yummy scents like Red Currant Zen, Green Tea Leaf, and my personal favorite, Mandarin Orange Mango. Karma's pampering products—including scented soy candles, lip balms, and bath salts—are sold in hip locales like Kitson in Los Angles and Beverly Hills Beauty Center, as well as in Hot Topic stores. I recommend checking them out, particularly the Karma in a Hand Creme in Mandarin Orange Mango.

Designer Spotlight

Designer Spotlight: Jasmine Di Milo

Keep an eye out for UK's latest and greatest designer, the 25-year-old Jasmine Di Milo.

Keep an eye out for UK's latest and greatest designer, the 25-year-old Jasmine Di Milo. Her designs—edgy and youthful with a sophisticated rocker flair—have just been picked up by 29 global outlets, including a number of U.S. boutiques. The child of Finnish and Egyptian parents, Jasmine studied at the London College of Fashion and trained in fashion workrooms at Harrods alongside some of Britain's top talent.

Di Milo started designing back in 2003, and for several years, she's been showing off her wares in a boutique located on the first floor of Harrods, which you should definitely check out if you're ever in London. I can't wait to see the results from her first big fashion show next spring in Paris. If you decide to order her clothes online, keep in mind that the sizes are U.K., so go up two sizes to get the right fit. (If you are a U.S. size 6, order a U.K. size 10.) Check out two of my favorite pieces that are now available online.

I absolutely love this gorgeous and funky red Stretch Silk Bustier Dress. It's got a padded bra top and a boned bodice, and the bottom has a drop of stretch in the fabric to prevent static cling around your backside. Buy it here for $588.

Halloween

Come Fab Finding With Me: Halloween Costumes!

Yes, ladies, it's about that time: We need to start thinking about our Halloween costumes, or we're going to be left costume-less when the holiday arrives.

Yes, ladies, it's about that time: We need to start thinking about our Halloween costumes, or we're going to be left costume-less when the holiday arrives. Whether you're party-hopping or just answering the door for trick-or-treaters, putting together a great costume can be a lot of fun. The key is keeping it simple. I'm a big fan of costumes that stand out for their cleverness, like this Snow White Trash costume at left. All you need is a Snow White costume with some trashy accessories and fake tattoos, and you're set.

I'd love to see what you guys can come up with, so let's all go Fab Finding for a cute and easy Halloween costume. It could be a regular clothing item with a clever twist, or an actual, full-on costume. Just be sure to come back and tell me when your Fab Finds are up, or tag your Fab Finds with the phrase "Halloween." To learn what a Fab Find is and how to make one, click here. Cheap and Chic

Cheap and Chic Shampoo

For some beauty essentials—including foundation, hair styling products, and eye makeup—it's worth splurging on the fancy stuff.

For some beauty essentials—including foundation, hair styling products, and eye makeup—it's worth splurging on the fancy stuff. But when it comes to shampoo, there's really not much difference between high-end brands and drugstore products. Unless you have extremely color-treated or damaged hair, save your money for the big beauty spends and go with one of these great, tried-and-true drugstore shampoos. Here are my top picks.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Moisturizing Shampoo, $6.49 for an 8.45-ounce bottle, available along with brunette and redhead formulations here.

Pantene Pro-V Shampoo Classically Clean, $7 for a 25.4-ounce bottle, available here. (Bonus: Pantene is also supporting a great cause.)

Neutrogena Clean Volume Body Enhancing Shampoo, $4.49 for a 10.1-ounce bottle, available here.

Love It or Hate It

Puffy-Sleeve Blouses: Love It or Hate It?

Remember the puffy shirt from Seinfeld?

Remember the puffy shirt from Seinfeld? The thought of wearing it on national TV prompted Jerry to shout "But I don't wanna be a pirate!" But right now, it seems, fashion designers do want us all to be pirates. Consider, for instance, this Fendi Puffy Sleeve Silk Blouse With Jabot. The 100 percent silk, Italian-made blouse has a silk tie and gold F-emblazoned buttons. You can buy it here for $1,690.

The scary thing is, Fendi isn't the only one hopping on the puffy shirt trend. If that top is a bit too rich for your blood, check out this Daryl K Raj Dress with Button Placket, available for $695 here. This one is made from pale-gray silk and also comes with 3/4-length sleeves. So, tell me what you think of the puffy shirt: a good way to embrace the big-volume trend, or completely silly? Let me know if you love it or hate it below.
