Oversized Handbags

Sleeping (Over) Bags

Remember that episode of Sex and the City where Carrie goes to pay for brunch and accidentally tosses a thong out of her handbag?

Remember that episode of Sex and the City where Carrie goes to pay for brunch and accidentally tosses a thong out of her handbag? Any woman who has ever been in a relationship with someone that she wasn't living with knows how that scenario rings true. If you're staying at a guy's place a lot, a giant handbag is a must-have for toting your extra undies, makeup, and hair products.

Apparently, handbag designer Rebecca Minkoff got the joke, too; she has a so-called Morning After Bag, which according to the designer's web site is "ideal for a morning after, (whatever the circumstance has brought your way), through to P.M., and even back again to A.M." You can buy it here for $528. To see some of my other favorite oversized handbags, read more

Nail Polish

Rich Chocolate Nail Polish

We've all heard how hot dark nail polish is this Fall.

We've all heard how hot dark nail polish is this Fall. But why not break the mold a little bit and try a deep chocolate brown instead of black polish? The Fall 2006 nail color collections have plenty of rich brown hues to choose from, and these cocoa-infused colors look great with the earth-toned accessories that are big this season. Here are three of my favorites.

OPI Decades of Shades, $6, available here.

Organic Cotton Balls

Organic Cotton, Now in Ball Form

We've already told you why it's important to buy organic cotton in regard to denim, and now, you can buy an organic variety of cotton balls as well.

We've already told you why it's important to buy organic cotton in regard to denim, and now, you can buy an organic variety of cotton balls as well. These Organic Essentials Triple Size Cotton Balls are made from 100 percent certified organic cotton and whitened with hydrogen peroxide instead of chlorine bleach. They're just as soft as regular cotton balls, but in this case, you won't be contributing to the pesticide-heavy farming that goes into conventional cotton. (Though cotton represents just 3 percent of the world's crop production, it eats up an estimated 12 percent of all pesticides.) You can buy a pack of 100 here for $3.49

Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week: Wunderkind

You're probably more familiar with German designer Wolfgang Joop from his eponymous Joop!

You're probably more familiar with German designer Wolfgang Joop from his eponymous Joop! line, established way back in 1979. But his second Wunderkind label, launched in 2003, is where the action is now.

The Spring 2007 collection, which was just shown at Milan Fashion Week, is wondrous indeed—both in its wearablity and its creativity. I particularly like the use of big but delicate floral patterns, bell-shaped skirts, and lace cut-outs, all of which call to mind a fairytale vibe. I could, however, live without ever wearing one of those Bo-Peep-style bonnets. Remarkably, Wunderkind is just as adept at creative edgy professional wear as it is dreaming up totally impractical beach attire. To see the looks for yourself, read more

Trend Alert: Velvet Bags for Daytime

We all know that velvet is a great evening option for Fall, but did you know that this season you can also don a velvet handbag during the day?

If you've got a sense of humor as well as a practical side, you'll appreciate these adorable survival kits from Urban Aid. The cute little packages make great gifts for girlfriends, but they're also not a bad thing to consider buying for yourself.

Take, for instance, the Shame On You Kit, which includes a toothbrush, toothpaste, a one-size-fits-all thong, three condoms, an emergency phone card, one packet of pain reliever, and a "leave behind" note. Buy it here for $24.

Fab Finding

Come Fab Finding With Me: Kylie's Cute Fall Look

After being diagnosed with breast cancer last year, Kylie Minogue is in remission and looking better than ever.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer last year, Kylie Minogue is in remission and looking better than ever. I love this subtle yet very feminine fall look that she was recently spotted wearing. With her round-toe tall boots and ruffly Victorian blouse, she manages to combine several fall trends into one effortless style. This is a great ensemble for easing into fall.

I've already identified her fabulous Dolce & Gabbana Leather Boots, available here for $1,550. Now let's all go Fab Finding to find a similar blouse, a leather jacket, and a handbag. Be sure to come back and tell us what you found, or just tag your Fab Finds with the phrase "Kylie Minogue." To learn what a Fab Find is and how to make one, click here. eBay Find of the Week

eBay Find of the Week: Vintage Gray Ankle Boots

If you're looking for a pair of shoes that can toe the line between ankle bootie and tall boots, check out these Vintage Grey Ruched Slouch Pixie Ankle Cuff Boots, which are currently up for bid on eBay here.

If you're looking for a pair of shoes that can toe the line between ankle bootie and tall boots, check out these Vintage Grey Ruched Slouch Pixie Ankle Cuff Boots, which are currently up for bid on eBay here. The 7.5-size shoes are in amazing condition and from a very reputable vintage seller. Plus, the gray leather will look great with the gray handbags that are so hot this fall. I'd buy them in an instant if only they were a size 8. The current bid is just $24.99, and the auction ends on Friday. Good luck!

Love It or Hate It

Fendi Pleated B Bag: Love It or Hate It?

When it comes to super-luxe handbags, Fendi is a pro.

When it comes to super-luxe handbags, Fendi is a pro. One of its latest designs is this Pleated B Bag, made from gold suede and embellished with gold buckles, a chain handle, and logo clasps. I like the tiny, elegant pleats and the very subtle shade of the leather, but something about this bag looks sort of gaudy to me. What do you think: love it or hate it? If you love it, start saving up: It costs $3,080, or you can buy it in black patent leather for $2,000 here.

Fab Finds of the Week: A Formal Affair

There was a flurry of Fab Finding this week, most of it on the more formal side.

There was a flurry of Fab Finding this week, most of it on the more formal side. Between the hunt for company cocktail party attire on Friday to Peepshow's request for formalwear ideas, Fab Finds were dominated by floor-length gowns, jeweled clutches, and sparkly shoes.

The Fab Finder of the Week honor goes to WhiplashGirlchild, who found not one but two company cocktail party ensembles, as well as a ton of formal options. Here's a look at what she and TeamSugar's other Fab Finders found this week.

I love this ensemble that WhiplashGirlchild put together for the office cocktail party.

Banana Republic Pleat-Front Turtleneck, $38, available here.

French Connection Serpent Skirt, $168, available here.
