Trend Alert: Short Capes
Though I already told you about this Fall's hottest coat trends, there is one cute, cutting-edge style I forgot to mention: short capes. Though capes are traditionally armless and bulky, these modern variations are more like coats, with cropped waists, big buttons, and delicate sleeves. A cape is also more timeless than you might think; you can always get away with throwing on a cape for a dressy evening gathering. Here are some of my favorite capes right now.

Chloe Oversized Wool Twill Jacket, $1,225, available here.

Rock Your Run

Motivating yourself to go running—or, for that matter, to keep running—can be a chore. That's why I always remember the words of a wise friend, who once said: "Just think of running as a dance party." That friend has since purchased a Nike + iPod Sport Kit, which might just be the best music-based exercise motivator ever. This kit, available for the surprisingly low price of $29 here, lets you connect your running shoes wirelessly to your iPod Nano, so you can use the music player to track your workouts, including miles run and calories burned. There's even a setting that lets you choose a "power song" that you can activate when you need a little extra motivation. To learn how it works, read more
Online Sale Alert! 15% Off Sale Items at Urban Outfitters
The sale racks at Urban Outfitters' bricks-and-mortar stores can be a bit scary. The sales on its web site, however, are full of great finds. Right now, the hip retailer is offering an additional 15 percent off all sale items until Oct. 31, so go check it out before all the good stuff is gone. Here are some of my picks. All prices are before the 15 percent discount, which is taken at checkout.

The Return of Bust-Enhancing Creams?
I always associate bust-enhancement schemes with sketchy ads in the back pages of teen magazines and 1960s adolescents chanting "We must, we must, we must increase our busts!" That's why I was stunned to discover that bust-enhancing creams have apparently gone high-end. You can now buy a jar of something called Sampar Lift Me Up Bust Cream at Fred Segal of all places. For $75 a pop, this cream claims to use "natural firming agents," such as wheat proteins and horse chestnut extract, to coat your skin in an invisible firming film for "immediate enhancement." This just seems wrong to me, and I can't imagine that this stuff actually works. What do you guys think? Would you be willing to try a bust-enhancement cream for $75? Or does this just seem absurd?
Fab Finding Follow-Up: Sunday Brunch With the Grandparents
Sunday has come and gone, which means I've gotten another brunch with the grandparents out of the way. With my grandparents, brunch is a somewhat formal affair, and I'm sure we've all been in situations where we have had to dress more formally than we would ever want to before noon on a Sunday. So I found this pretty ruffled blouse, available here for $175, and asked you guys to go Fab Finding for the perfect bottoms, shoes and bag to complete this Sunday Brunch outfit. (To learn what a Fab Find is and how to make one, click here.) The ensembles that TeamSugar's Fab Finders came up with are perfectly pretty and prim, with formal yet simple jewelry and dressy pumps. Here are some of the best looks.
Look #1, found by LaLaLola, who went classically chic with a black pencil skirt, pearls, and cute black J. Crew pumps.

The Scent of the Stars

So many scents, so little time. So if you can't decide what perfume to try next, why not follow the lead of celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss, and Madonna, all of whom have sought out the coveted Kisu fragrance, created by London home store Tann Rokka. This hard-to-find eau de parfum is Eastern-inspired in both its look and smell, with tones of ylang-ylang and musk giving it an incredibly unique and exotic scent for both men and women. Kisu is exquisitely packaged in a sleek black bottle and box, and because the name means "kiss" in Japanese, it's a great romantic gift for your special someone. You can buy a 100-ml bottle for $125 here.
Come Fab Finding With Me: Toddler Play Date
I'm not a mom myself, but I know that a lot of my readers are. Maybe that's why I can't help but notice all of the super-stylish moms toting toddlers through the local playgrounds lately. I'm sure that dressing for a play date with 2-year-olds isn't easy, but somehow these women seem to pull it off with aplomb, using easy, comfortable pieces with just a little bit of flair. For instance, this LaROK Marled V-Neck Sweater, available for $258 here, seems like it would be a great option, since you wouldn't have to fuss with it and it wouldn't show stains. But you guys know better than I do, let's all go Fab Finding for suitable shoes, bottoms, and a roomy bag; feel free to use my sweater as a jumping off or choose your own. Be sure to come back and tell us that your Fab Finds are up, or just tag your Fab Finds with the phrase "Play Date." To learn what a Fab Find is and how to make one, click here. Trend Alert: Big, Bold Rings
Diamonds may be a girl's best friend, but semi-precious stones are a great companion when it comes to big, bold rings. Made from topaz and citrine on the high end and glass and cubic zirconia on the low end, enormous statement rings are everywhere this Fall. The styles below are both funky and classy at the same time, thanks to sophisticated cuts and muted gold metals. Here's a look at some of my favorite over-sized rings at various price points.
David Yurman Albion Ring in Topaz, $1,100, available here.

Stephen Dweck Cognac Quartz Ring, $830, available here.

Jamie Joseph Turquoise Ring, $418, available here.

Rings Eclectic Bronze Button Ring, $92, available here.
