Let's face it: We're stuck with velvet forever. Because it's cozy, warm, and especially festive during the holiday season, velvet is just one of those things that will always be in style for fall and winter. Thankfully, I've found the cutest purse and flats combo at Scoop that will add sparkle and snuggle to any dreary winter day.

No matter how often you change your style, one thing stays constant: You'll always need a steady supply of undies. That's why I love Club Fife, which is essentially a subscription service for underwear. Made in San Francisco by Scottish designer Andrew Linton, Fife's boy shorts and thongs (or "knickers," as they're known to Brits) are made of modal, a fabric made from beechwood chips. The knickers wear like silk or microfiber (read: no panty lines) but feel like cotton, and they're machine washable too. (I should also mention that I usually avoid thongs at all costs, and these are the most comfortable ones I've ever worn.)

This product has no relation to FABSUGAR, but when I saw the Sugar Tropic Tan Blush and Bronzer Duo, available here for $25, I simply had to try it. After one use, I was hooked. The bronzer and peachy blush combo is the perfect blend for summer if you have fair-to-medium skin and a little bit of a tan. The colors create a very sweet-looking, sun-kissed glow, and the compact is built to last longer than most with its oversized amount of product inside.

Pea coats are a classic, but they are especially trendy this season. The same goes for peplum jackets, which combine the fit of a pea coat with the shape of a dress. Instead of opting for basic black or gray, check out this sophisticated slate-blue pea coat by See by Chloe now available on eBay. The current bid on the size 8 wool coat is just over $2, but it's likely to climb by the time the auction ends tomorrow.

All this talk about fall trends makes me want to start wearing next season's clothes NOW. Though dressing for the summer-to-fall transition can be a challenge, it's also an opportunity to don cute summer sweaters and peeptoe shoes in warm autumn colors.

Ever since I saw Scarlett Johansson wearing this adorable party dress at the New York premiere of Scoop, I've been determined to track down the designer. Turns out, the surprisingly affordable frock is the Suzy Dance Silk Dress by Peter Som, available here for $1,530. I absolutely love the way it combines a girly 1960s silhouette with sophisticated accents, like the gray-velvet hem and black-lace detail.

Scarlett inspired me to check out the rest of Som's Fall/Winter 2006 Collection, which is a parade of great party dresses in black, white, and gray tones.

Last week's theme was trash: The designers had 30 minutes in New Jersey's finest recycling plant to choose the materials for their design challenge. Between the trash collecting and the trash talking, the producers should have issued all of us one of these hot yellow ensembles.

Even Laura was dumpster diving, which is a sight I'm sure her Upper East Side girlfriends never thought they'd see.

At least she managed to pull it off in designer riding pants and matching boots.
