Don't-Forget Door Hangers

Whether its my cell phone, Netflix movies that need returning, or tickets to a concert, I am always forgetting things on my way out the door.

Whether its my cell phone, Netflix movies that need returning, or tickets to a concert, I am always forgetting things on my way out the door. I've tried different tactics, like taping things to the front door or laying them out on the floor where I walk. But now I've found a better solution: Unforgettable Doorganizers and Message Pads. These cute door hangers come in two versions that are great for busy girls on the go.

The Unforgettable Doorganizer, available for $18 here lets you tuck must-haves like keys and mail into its pockets.

Then, there's the Unforgettable Door Hanger Message Pads, which let you write notes to yourself. You can get them for $8 here.

Hard-to-Find Fragrances

Don't you hate it when you find the fragrance of your dreams, and then suddenly it's nowhere to be found?

Don't you hate it when you find the fragrance of your dreams, and then suddenly it's nowhere to be found? This has happened to me on at least two occasions, but often, the fragrance isn't discontinued. Usually, it's just sold overseas or in limited batches, and if you look hard, you can still get your fragrance fix.

One great resource: the online perfume store called Parfumelle. Admittedly, this web site is pretty ugly and very user unfriendly: It's hard to browse, and not every product has an accompanying photos. But it's worth the hassle, because Parfumelle's treasure trove of hard-to-find scents is so fantastic. I found an obscure women's fragrance I've been searching for for years, as well as my favorite men's cologne, which seems to be getting phased out. I highly recommend it.

Trend Alert: Beatnik Black Dresses

When it comes to effortless chic, it doesn't get much better than a beatnik-style black turtleneck—that is, unless that black turtleneck is also a dress.

When it comes to effortless chic, it doesn't get much better than a beatnik-style black turtleneck—that is, unless that black turtleneck is also a dress. It seems like everyone is coming out with black turtleneck dresses for fall, and this look really works on almost everyone. With styles ranging from billowy knits to mini dresses, it's just a matter of finding the style you prefer. Here are some of my favorites.

Julie Haus Cashmere Mini Dress, $320, available here.

Vince Turtleneck Dress, $290, available here.

Mineral Powder Makeups

If you find liquid foundations to be too heavy, you might want to try one of the new mineral powder foundations that are all the rage right now.

If you find liquid foundations to be too heavy, you might want to try one of the new mineral powder foundations that are all the rage right now. These mineral-based, talc-free makeups provide the finished look and coverage of foundation, but they are very lightweight and won't dry out your skin. In fact, you'll be amazed how polished you can look by just applying powder. Plus, many of these products contain sunscreen, too.

However, the brush you use to apply the foundation is very important: Each manufacturer makes its own special brush, but it's not just a ploy to get you to buy one; invest in the corresponding brush if you want to try this makeup. Here's a look at some of my favorite mineral foundations.

Bare Escentuals i.d. bareMinerals Foundation SPF 15, $25, available here.

Jane Iredale PurePressed Base SPF 18, $48, available here

Decadent Dark-Brown Bags

Brown is always the new black when Fall rolls around.

Brown is always the new black when Fall rolls around. The gorgeous autumn leaves and amazing sunsets just seem to welcome earth tones and neutrals back into our wardrobes and cosmetics.

Here are a few of my favorite new brown bags for Fall 2006, but mind you, these are decadent bags, not deals. So add them to your Fab Finds or put them on your holiday wish list, because these supple Italian leather bags all come with a hefty price tag. That doesn't mean I can't dream!

Tod's T Bag Piccola is a textured leather bag with many pockets for easy access and organization, and the size is just right for everyday use. Buy it here for $1,195.

Marc Jacobs Striped Hudson Bag is a leather tote with striped trim for an added touch of style. Buy it here for $1,275.

Come Fab Finding With Me: The Company Cocktail Party

For today's installment of Come Fab Finding With Me, a TeamSugar user needs our help.

For today's installment of Come Fab Finding With Me, a TeamSugar user needs our help. Yesterday I got this email from Honeysugar28, who asks:

Can you please help me find a dress for a company cocktail party? I don't know what's appropriate. The thing is, the next day I have to wear a black
dress at a seminar, so I don't want to wear black twice in a row. Help me please! Oh, and also nothing too expensive I'm on a budget. Thank you!

I think that Honeysugar28 should stay away from anything sheer, lacy, or strapless, in order to look professional. I'd recommend this BCBG Max Azria Blue Matte Jersey Pleated Dress, available for $144 here. It's very flattering, it strikes a balance between casual and dressy, and it also looks comfortable, so you wouldn't have to fuss with it. What would you guys recommend? Let's all go Fab Finding to give Honeysugar28 some dress suggestions! Be sure to come back and tell us what you found. To learn what a Fab Find is and how to make one, click here. Chanel

The Good, the Bad, and the Grandma

I can't just tell you about the fabulous new products out there; it's also my duty to warn you about the scary ones.

I can't just tell you about the fabulous new products out there; it's also my duty to warn you about the scary ones. When you think of Chanel, you think unparalleled elegance, class, and style. But its new Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Turbulent is a little bit of a let down.

Chanel just introduced two new fall colours to this collection, and while Rose Petale is a romantic, pearly-soft notch on Chanel's fabulous beauty belt, Turbulent is its polar opposite. This color is virtually fluorescent and reminds me of something a grandmother would wear. Use a light touch when testing it, or you're bound to walk out of the store looking like you were just caught in a cold wind storm. But, for those of you who are on the lookout for a strong pink blush, you can buy it here for $39.50. Hurry, because it's a limited edition. (Thank goodness!)
