Button Baby Doll Jumpers
I can't believe it myself, but it's true: Jumpers are in style for Fall and Winter 2006. On the one hand, they are a great match with the new leggings trend, and they are conducive to layering, which is very in right now. But while baby doll-style jumpers look super cute on Ashlee Simpson, I felt a little bit like a schoolgirl when I tried one on. If you decide to go for it, here are my top three choices for baby-doll jumpers.

This Ivy Babydoll Jumper has wide straps, large, pearly buttons, and a pair of pockets on the front. Buy it in gray, brown, and navy here for $285.

NY Fashion Week: Peter Som
My passion for Peter Som began a few months ago, when I spotted Scarlett Johansson wearing one of his adorable party dresses at the New York premiere of Scoop. But while his Fall 2006 line focused on flirty frocks with luscious detailing in variations of black and white, Som simplified things somewhat for his Spring 2007 show at New York Fashion Week.
Though he's sticking with a similar palette this time around, Som is now applying his sleek, sexy look to separates like 1940s-inspired jackets and tops with youthful buttons and bows, as well as shorts so sassy you could wear them to a cocktail party. I particularly like the trumpet-like flairs on the wrists and waistlines, as well as the subtle bubbly skirts. To see all of Fabsugar's New York Fashion Week coverage, click here. NY Fashion Week: Nanette Lepore
When I first saw the chartreuse dresses parading down the runway at the Nanette Lepore show on Tuesday, I was horrified that one of my favorite boho-inspired designers seemed to be favoring a very heinous color. But as more items appeared from the Spring 2007 collection at New York Fashion Week, I grew to appreciate the day-glow shade—but as an accent color, mind you, not as the entire basis for a dress. The chartreuse actually made for a stunning and surprising combination when tempered with royal and light blues or overlaid with black, and I loved the bright color accents provided by the models' big chunky bangles.
When Lepore toned down the color palette, the line broke ground with sleek and unusual silhouettes, like super-high-waisted skirts paired with cropped shrug suit jackets. As always, I could have done without the animal prints, but all in all, I'd have to say this is one of the more entertaining and wearable collections to be shown so far. Come Fab Finding With Me: A Look That Bucks the Trends
If there's anything that makes me want to jump headfirst into ultra-trendy attire, it's New York Fashion Week. But on some occasions—say, a school photo, a job interview, or a dinner with the grandparents—you need a classic outfit that will look great regardless of the fads. For those moments, consider investing in a cashmere sweater vest, like this J. Crew Deep V-Neck Vest, available for $98 here. It's an evergreen piece that, when paired with other classic items, will help you look refined and polished for years.
Of course, a sweater vest calls for a few other timeless pieces, like a smart dress shirt, sensible shoes, and a classic handbag. What would you guys wear it with? Let's all go Fab Finding to complete the outfit. To learn what a Fab Find is and how to make one, click here. Be sure to come back and tell us all what you found. Fall Coat Trends: Bomber Jackets
Welcome to day 3 of our week-long look at coat trends for Fall 2006. (To read yesterday's installment, click here.) Today’s spotlight: bomber jackets. These aviator-inspired coats—characterized by fitted shoulders and banded waists—are a great option for cool but not frigid temperatures. Depending on the style, they can look both extremely casual or hip and polished, and this season, a bomber in plaid is especially cool. Here are my picks for some great bomber jackets at both designer and non-designer prices.
An Earnest Cut and Sew Didion Plaid Wool Jacket, $525, available here.

See By Chloe Cropped Herringbone Jacket, $660, available here.

96Hours Sprint Bomber in Charcoal, $356, available here.

NY Fashion Week: Heatherette
With Paris and Nicky Hilton on its runway and two wacky designers behind its fashions, it's no surprise that the Tuesday night show from Heatherette was one of the most buzzed-about events at New York Fashion Week. The models, which also included Mena Suvari and Kelis, strutted out a smorgasbord of styles ranging from lavender and gold lame to leopard and Hawaiian prints to country-club fashions gone a little nutty.
Created by designer duo Traver Rains and Richie Rich, Heatherette's clothes are admittedly off-kilter, but several innovative ideas stood out, including alphabet-print fabrics, voluminous appliques, and some truly creative layering. D.I.Y. Microdermabrasion from Neutrogena
Neutrogena® Advanced Solutions At Home MicroDermabrasion System is getting a lot of attention these days, and with good reason. Although there is really nothing quite like having a professional microdermabrasion treatment, this at-home kit is a close second to a spa. The results are amazing, and you never have to leave your house. Buy it here for $37.99.

For those of you unfamiliar with microdermabrasion, it is a quick and easy process involving an electronic device and tiny crystals to effectively re-energize skin and stimulate the surface cells. The benefits are significant in reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and it also helps to unclog pores and clear skin. To read more about Neutrogena's kit and how it works, read more
