NY Fashion Week: Milly
I'm a big fan of baby-doll dresses and other girly-cute clothes, so lately I've been admiring the designs of New York-based label Milly, by designer Michelle Smith. Her clothes have been spotted on celebs including Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston and are sold at Scoop and other favorite fashionista destinations. Milly's Spring 2007 collection, unveiled at New York Fashion Week, is pure fun. Not the sort of stuff you'd want to wear to a job interview, mind you, but just right for indulging your adorable side.
With Milly we see some trends that surfaced earlier this week—like coral tones, big buttons, and cropped jackets—in addition to some very playful and creative takes on eyelet and polka-dots. I particularly like the circular shades that all of the models were sporting. It's enough to make me want to skip fall and go right to summer. A Matchmaker For Shoes

If you're a firm believer in the idea that shoes simply have to match your handbag, check out online shoe and handbag retailer 6pm.com. (You might remember the store from when it used to be called Shoedini.) The site has this very cool feature called Match Maker, which lets you search for a matching bag every time you find a pair of shoes you like.
To use Match Maker, just click on the "see bags that match" button, and the site automatically suggests a number of potential handbags that coordinate. While the first suggestion isn't always perfect, at least one choice in the top five is usually spot on. Plus, the site gives you a large variety of items to chose from, and you can rate how good the match is—presumably so 6 p.m. can keep tweaking the formula. At the very least, it's a fun way to discover new handbags, as if we needed another excuse.
Top Five Fall Fashion Must-Haves
I spend a lot of time on Fabsugar telling you about the top trends for Fall 2006. But how do you know where to put your money? If you're only going to follow five trends this season, here are my picks for Fall's fashion must-haves.
1. Skinny Jeans are this season's number one must-have item, worn with a long tunic or over-size top. The super skinny J Brand Jeans in gray are especially popular among celebs (including Posh, left) these days. Buy the 12-inch Pencil Leg Stretch Jeans here for $159.
2. Bags with Gold Hardware. I've been coveting this Miu Miu "It" Bag ever since I caught a glimpse of Sienna Miller carrying one. It has since been embraced by other fashionistas, including Mischa Barton, Hilary Swank, and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Another way to follow the trend is with this Marc Jacobs Large Quilted Tote, available here for $1,175.

NY Fashion Week: Cynthia Steffe
I find myself drawn to Cynthia Steffe clothes in stores for much the same reason I like Nanette Lepore. Both designers create extraordinarily unique clothes that are highly wearable and feminine without being fussy. And Steffe's Spring 2007 collection, unveiled Wednesday at New York Fashion Week, is no exception.
There was definitely a retro vibe to these sweet pieces. Some of the designs—including gingham shorts and cap-sleeve white sheath dress—look like something a 20-something might have worn during a 1950s summer in Cape Cod, while the cropped suit jackets with Peter Pan collars recall 1940s working girls. One For The Guys: Armani's Custom-Made Suits

In 2005 Giorgio Armani launched a very special haute-couture collection for women called Prive. For almost two years, the men have waited their turn, and now the time has come: Armani just launched his newest specialty for men, dubbed Fatto a Mano su Misura, or "handmade to measure" in boring old English.
The new line offers two different style options for suit jackets and blazers, which may sound like slim pickings until you hear about the endless array of choices regarding fabrics, colors, buttons, pockets, and other details. Giorgio himself is very excited about this handsome collection, recently telling Time magazine: "My intention is to create a different kind of excellence, one that reflects my own personal aesthetic of bringing the traditional and the modern together while respecting the craft the Savile Row has for so long made its own."
Fatto a Mano su Misura first launched in London and Milan and will now be available in 13 Armani boutiques worldwide, including shops in New York and Los Angeles. Suit prices range from $2,500 to $10,000.

NY Fashion Week: Matthew Williamson
Stars like Mischa Barton and Victoria Beckham showed up Wednesday afternoon to admire the hippie-chic designs of Brit Matthew Williamson, and I can understand why. His technicolor Spring 2007 collection at New York Fashion Week was a bold departure from what I've seen on the other runways. A collection this daring is bound to have its highs and lows, but it's refreshing nonetheless.
I loved the lily-pad print dresses, the coupling of red and coral, and the geometric-print sequined sweaters. However, there was also plenty I could have done without—namely, a leggings-and-long tee ensemble that looked like something I would have worn to bed in the 1980s. There was also some rather unappetizing pattern mixing that was going on, but all in all, it was pretty damn cute. To see all of Fabsugar's Fashion Week coverage, click here. NY Fashion Week: Anna Sui
If New York Fashion Week is any indication—and, of course, it is—the so-called "new proportions" are here to stay. Even at the Spring 2007 show from maverick style maven Anna Sui, there was an endless supply of volume, including bell-like skirts, poetic sleeves, bubble-shaped tops, and baby-doll waists.
Sui is known for her interpretations of 1960s and '70s style, and there were plenty of boho patterns on display at last night's show. But this time around, she reaches back even further, hinting at the decadence of the late 16th century while at the same time evoking the '80s with legwarmers and fishnet leggings. Like many designers, Sui is working with lots of dusty grays, black, and red, though I was also delighted to see the appearance of some rich chocolate browns.
